Another crybaby primadonna needs a long time out.

He broke the rules and like anyone else who did/does likewise (Braun, others?), its time to “pay the piper”.

He is lucky he didn’t get banned for life (yet).

I would respectfully add two more:
One of Noah’s first acts after exiting the ark was to plant a vineyard (for wine, not grape juice)

Jesus’ first miracle? water to wine

Thank you. One of the least-thought out things I ever see around here are people who like to pretend the Bible means everything to them, and needs to be taken literally, but It’s just kidding when it comes to The Lord making vino.

I would go so far as to say the world would be a better place without them.

Why live vicariously through others when you get get out on your own? I never understood that.

The penalties handed out should have been even across the board.........50, 60, 100 games, whatever.

No reason for anyone to be upset, it’s a captain obvious post. Dudes doing stuff to hamper their performance is a choice they make that interferes with their own, and their teammates’ career. It isn’t cheating that hinders the integrity of the game

No mention of Dock Ellis anywhere in this thread?

Did you ever read "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton? There are some great stories about Mantle's (and other baseball greats and not-so-greats) antics.

Who or what is an "A-Rod"?

Just partially kidding. I don't know squat about the guy, and really don't care to. I'm just tired of hearing and seeing his name 24/7.

They should trade him back to Seattle for Jesus Montero and a cracked bat. The M's would bite.

:-(

But baseball wants performance degrading drugs.

And that is why we see Mickey Mantle and so many others like him lionized. Heavy boozers whose train wreck stories entertained the sports public every bit as much as their exploits on the field.

//////////
Interesting. You likely have a point!

But, then there are the Stan Musials, the Ernie Bankses, and the Sandy Koufaxes who were straigt arrows and outstanding players!

Well lookee here. The chickens coming home to roost. Not too many years ago this forum was inundated with posters who said A-Rod would save baseball from the likes of that evil Barry Bonds. Some of you have been pinged.

Crow now being served in the cheap seats.

"This is the Mickey Mantle story I heard...Stengel looked down the bench in the bottom of the 8th and called Mantles name. Mantle went out and hit a 562 foot home run (maybe his longest)...Or as Lincoln said about Grant being an alcoholic, find out what he drinks and give a case to all the generals."

If only Mantle had been batting against Doc Ellis.

LMAO...surely not I? I can’t stand A-Rod....I said the Yankees should have worked something out with the Marlins 5 years ago to get rid of him.

Hahaha At least you seem to be finally over A-Rod.
You did cite him as being “the solid hope for the future”, though. Read through the thread below you were not alone.
