More than 80 lawmakers have called on the Obama administration to allow gay men to donate blood.
The lawmakers say the administration should change what they say is an "outdated" policy.
Eighty-two lawmakers in the House and Senate signed on to the letter, including Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Enzi was the only Republican to sign the letter.
They said Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius should re-evaluate blood donation criteria that ban gay men from donating blood for life.

If your hospital/provider won’t agree to do it for you, there are independent (for pay) providers of this service.

common pratice for joint replacement surgeries and can be performed before, during or after surgeries.
During autologous blood donation patient donates his or her blood for own use, this process can commence
up to 5 weeks before surgery, which will be stored and reinfused as needed during or after the surgery. As
own blood is receptive to the body, it is an extremely safe way to help the patient in the recovery process.”
I think that will be something I will try when the time comes
I agree. Someone has something on him so this BS can be bipartisan. He can't be this dumb. Blood testing isn't infallible. A lot of things can go wrong, besides it takes time for antibodies to develop.

The problem we now have in Wyoming is that from what I know of Cheney, she would have voted for this as well.
