At my last job, I worked with a smart young black gentleman who went by 'Steven'.

I can't remember what context it came up in, but I got a look at his real name. It started with 'ST' and had about five apostrophes in it.

I asked him, "Why do go by 'Steven'?"....he replied, "So that people will take me seriously.".
