The terror threat prompting the U.S. government to close nearly two dozen embassies and consulates Sunday is the most specific, credible threat information in years, CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports.
Intelligence officers have reporting from a reliable source that a major plot is under way and that the team to carry it out has been selected and is in place, Miller reports.
The threat information has been described as the most specific and credible since the foiled plot to blow up British planes en route to the United States in 2006, Miller reports. The specificity ends there.
What authorities don't have is the date, the timing or the target of the attack, which is why they have taken such an approach to warning potential targets, Miller reports.

It must be quite the threat. I mean, closing embassies on Sunday and nobama flying in his choom buddies for a round of golf. The real threat is nobama and his commie minions.
If this potential terror attack is real why should we announce that we know about it? This will only cause the terrorists (that want to commit work place violence) change their plans and method of operation. In effect this helps the bad guys.
Would it not be better to beef up security in the areas we suspect an attack? Why let the bad guys know that we know they are coming?
I love the Specter Gun Ship and our special ops that will go in and “pacify” bad guys. Both will ruin your whole day if you are a bad guy.
If there is no attack, I fully expect a barrage of statements from Obama explaining how they with the NSA foiled this plot. I also expect no proof of this as it involves national security.
If this potential attack is real, Obama is guilty of total incompetence or worse. If it is not real, Obama is guilty of running a sham security operation for political purposes only. This will get Benghazi, the hidden CIA personnel of Benghazi, the IRS, the NSA, Fast and Furious, Obamacare etc. off the front page of the newspapers.
I do not trust the president. I know the president is not a patriot of our great nation. I do not know to whom or what he owes his allegiance.

Even more specific than the BM bombers? Dribble, dribble, leak, leak, boom, boom. It's enough to keep agencies alive and paychecks flowing for decades. Put Snowden on it. Perhaps we'd get some specificity.
