There was a time in this country when people were allowed to smoke indoors.
My wife totally freaks out when she sees our kids on a balcony....reading this story won’t help matters.
There was a time in this country when they threw sluts off 17th floor balconies.

It all started when she got out of the truck!
The comments on the Slate article site are vicious. No pity, she should have known the dangers, too bad for her.
“Sex on the first date combined with smoking can be hazardous to your health” is the consensus IMO.
“OMG that poor woman. Prayers up.” will not be found at slate.com. But that is my sentiment at this tragic time.

Let’s see, New York City (NYC), a bustling metropolis with just a few lawyers in the local area. The usual suspects; architect, materials provider, contractor, building inspector, union and Mafia ... eney, meeney, miny, moe ... choose one or all!
The idea of being unable to lean against a railing is ridiculous and I have this suspicion that NYC has more regulations about this than almost any other place on earth. Add some more regs?

IIRC, inspection is due every 5 years for the balconies and was due this past February.
She didn’t lean or sit on it. Seems they are trying to make her sound clueless to suggest she would sit on it 17 floors high. They are merely blowing ‘smoke’ up readers’ butt. And that’s the smoke people should be allergic to!
BTW, Her ‘date’ lived two doors down.
I read that AP story, and while I didn’t linger to analyze it, I did catch the strange accusatory tone of the writing, it was as though they didn’t like her.
