Please don't complain later that you didn't see it coming. As always, Mr. Obama states publicly what his intentions are. He is doing that now. Toward the end of his speech last week in Jacksonville, Fla., he said: "So where I can act on my own, I'm going to act on my own. I won't wait for Congress." (Applause.)
The July 24 speech at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill., has at least four references to his intent to act on his own authority, as he interprets it: "That means whatever executive authority I have to help the middle class, I'll use it." (Applause.) And: "We're going to do everything we can, wherever we can, with or without Congress."
In a recent Journal op-ed, "Obama Suspends the Law," former federal judge Michael McConnell noted there are few means to stop a president who decides he is not obligated to execute laws as passed by Congress. So there's little reason to doubt we'll see more Obamaesque dismissals of established law, as with ObamaCare's employer mandate. Mr. Obama is pushing in a direction that has the potential for a political crisis.

Michael McConnell: Obama Suspends the Law
“Of all the stretches of executive power Americans have seen in the past few years, the president’s unilateral suspension of statutes may have the most disturbing long-term effects. As the Supreme Court said long ago (Kendall v. United States, 1838), allowing the president to refuse to enforce statutes passed by Congress “would be clothing the president with a power to control the legislation of congress, and paralyze the administration of justice.”
If congress doesn’t get some balls when they get back from recess, there’s going to be a lot out on the street come next year...
Mr. Obama is pushing in a direction that has the potential for a political crisis.

Is he suggesting that the GOP will suddenly grow a spine and challenge the president’s growing abuse of power? Laughable.
What’s this about creeping? He’s always been a statist.
And the feckless and collaborationist GOPe is working overtime to make sure that happens. Boehner, McConnell and their lieutenants continue to work harder against the GOP base and the Tea Party than they do against the Democrats.
The point Henninger’s trying to make here is that Obama is continuing to use his “bully pulpit” of the Presidency to make sweeping legal changes to America without a peep from Congress or the SCOTUS. As he appoints other communist statists, we lose more freedom to an executive branch without any reigns.
We’re a horse-drawn carriage with SCOTUS at the whip and Congress in the buggy while the reigns have been snipped and the horses smacked, careening down the road toward totalitarianism with King Obama standing at the end of the walk to stop the stampede.

Come on come onnnn....doooo wit doooo wit....keel me now doo wit!
Obama is a dictator-in-waiting, only he’s not waiting.
The author of this article is trying to use Obama as a means of scaring us into supporting his darling insider political figures like Boehner and Cantor.
The WSJ editorialists like Henninger are full bore amnesty fans.
I’ve come to the conclusion that they don’t want our guns. They want us to fight for them so they can eliminate us. And by “us” I mean conservatives. They know how we vote. The liberal gun owners will be allowed to keep their guns.
With drones and local cops becoming para-military, it doesn’t look promising.
