OMG, the Thought Police is just one tiny step away from this!

Another ‘nudge’ that’s been going on for a long time is the our tax code. We are influenced to do or not do certain things because there are financial consequences. I expect the IRS’s influence on nudging us to increase 100fold after Obamacare is implemented.

I’m on dialup - but will read the document at night when things seem to go faster. Or when I get back to the valley, barring that.

guess at times my impatience gets the best of me. I clearly see where this country is headed and realize the consequences. I want to hit the re-set button now before I get too old to contribute to the rebuilding. It's hard to have lived my whole life to now have a stand off with Obama.

Same here. I am trying to get/stay in shape so I am prepared and can help, but with each passing year it gets harder!

Also, this needs to happen ASAP so the older folks that were taught the Constitution before our schools were dumbed down are still around. If they wait too long, the younger folks will just be happy to hand the country over.

It’s already been done for several decades with linguistic activism originating in universities. Even most Freepers use the words and composition chosen by them to embed social pathologies in our culture. They changed the language, then the laws and policies.

Just like Newspeak (from 1984). The next step for Newspeak in the book was to eliminate a lot of the words - thereby reducing people's ability to think. I think our public schools are accomplishing this without decimating the language, though.

"Our nation, culture and society are in their death throes. It is over. Many people are just now waking up and demand that we fight back. They waited too long to waken. The fight is over and we lost it. There is nothing left of things but to wait for the end, for complete socialist oppression.

It is very painful when you finally realize this is true.
"

Well said. There are personal measures that can be practiced, though.

* Avoid buying anything that we don't really need.

* Become more self-sufficient with frequent assessments and searches for more knowledge.

* Learn to make or do something truly useful--mechanics, home thermal energy projects, electrical work, electronics, machine tech., building tech., agriculture, etc. Do so as a hobby for now. The default process will be completed. Avoid spending you life away on supporting the investments of the political/regulator class (e.g., investments of government incomes in local energy companies--all of 'em).

* Avoid corrupt politics (i.e., all contemporary politics).

* Be peaceful, law-abiding, locally non-controversial and unseen except by friendlies. Lowtechs will rule in the future.

Probably good advice.
