With somewhere in the neighborhood of 17,000 islands that, in Hindu areas, are some of the most inviting islands in the world for tourist.

Since the majority are Muslim, I don't see them being a "playa" soon. Muslims care for Allah, worshiping him and otherwise ignoring the environment, natural resources, pollution/population problems. I only say this because I am MOST familiar with living in a Muslim country. Their priorities, simply put, are different than ours.
