Cleveland police, report refute Texas Rangers’ reliever Tanner Scheppers memory of Thursday attack

A day after Tanner Scheppers reported he was unavailable after being “sucker-punched” while leaving a Cleveland restaurant, a different version of the story is being reported, as well.

In it, Scheppers was the instigator in a fight at a Cleveland restaurant/bar at approximately 2:30 a.m.. He was one of three Rangers at Pannini’s, along with reliever Joe Nathan and catcher A.J. Pierzynski. According to an unnamed source in local weekly Cleveland Scene, Scheppers “lost a bar fight. He had 10 chances to walk away before this happened.”

Meanwhile the phone in the Orioles dugout is recuperating while considering filing charges against Big Papi.

According to Scheppers, there was no report filed because police told him that it was unlikely the “young males” Scheppers claimed attacked him would be apprehended.

They are even less likely to be apprehended if you don't file a report.

if he went ahead and filed a report the cops would feel obligated to drive up and down the street looking at the sidewalk for a few minutes I guess
