Texas Officials, Activists to Holder on Voter ID: If It’s War You Want, It’s War You’ve Got
PJ Media ^ | 7/25/13 | Bryan Preston

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is responding quickly and forcefully to Obama Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to rope Texas back into the Voting Rights Act. The US Supreme Court just struck part of that law down.-snip-The facts are on Abbott’s side. Texas specifically modeled its voter ID law on Indiana’s. That law has already been taken all the way to the US Supreme Court and was upheld. The Texas law enjoys widespread support across all ethnicities in the state. Only the Texas Democrat Party and its allies oppose it.

The Obama administration has been very consistent about opposing laws that buttress election security, and it has been very consistent about punishing states that don’t get in line with Obama’s radical agenda. Holder’s lawsuit is just another example of both.

The lawsuit comes just after Abbott announced his run for governor. It will give him a major platform from which to oppose Obama and Holder, which will play very well in Texas. Frankly, Abbott was already heavily favored to win. Now he’s all but a lock.

Update: Texas Gov. Rick Perry posted the following statement on his Facebook page.

“Once again, the Obama Administration is demonstrating utter contempt for our country’s system of checks and balances, not to mention the U.S. Constitution. This end-run around the Supreme Court undermines the will of the people of Texas, and casts unfair aspersions on our state’s common-sense efforts to preserve the integrity of our elections process.”

"The Obama administration has been very consistent about opposing laws..."

...that prevent election tampering.

I would love to hear an elected official in Texas tell Holder and his master to go “F” themselves on live TV.

Hey Chinese Military: You do know the Obama Blue States and Washington DC are full of disarmed weaklings, don’t you? You can seize them without firing a shot. Just a little friendly reminder from Texas and The Red States, who’d be better off without the blue states.

but they won’t let the red states go, for the same reason that homosexuals need access to schools and Scouts, they would die off without their victims to bleed dry.

I would love for Texas state government to kick all Federal Agents (who are not military) OUT of Texas, and not to return under order of arrest!~

I don't think they can do that.

They could be absolute sticklers for enforcing every law valid in Texas to the fullest possible extent on each and every one of them though...

Long enough for them to purge the old leadership?

No need. They can’t hardly help but commit three felonies a day, just fully enforce existing laws. ALL existing laws.

If one thing liberals always do is over-reach.....

They picked the wrong 800 lb gorilla.....it will back fire on them...

This is probably a lot more of a “show” for the rest of the 56 states to let them know who’s boss .....

The old leadership would be long gone hiding in ND, but the ones who voted them in would
be left behind to fend for themselves not knowing how to drive a bus.

Yeah. It would be a bit like a certain corporation I heard of.

They laid off all the workers, and the next day they were standing around with their coffee cups wondering how to make coffee...

Here’s my guess on the Obama strategy. He knows Abbott is going to win the governor’s race, so he wants to test his battle readiness. He knows the intial attack will be ineffective but perhaps a sustained attack could do some damage to Abbott’s rep with Texas voters. It reminds me when I went on a week long journalism trip with Chinese officials in Jiangsu Province a few years ago. The toughest reporters in Asia were invited and we could ask all them anything. For the first 2 days, the officials really tried to answer our question, but by Day 5, they were so shell shocked they refused to answer questions and went into hiding. When heading to the airport, we journalists speculated on why the Chinese were so foolish to invite us and expect us to believe they were fighting corruption, later on we concluded it was a test. Beijing wanted to know if Jiangsu officials could handle some tough questions and it looked like they failed. So it should come as no surprise that Jiangsu Province is now getting blamed for China’s debt problems.

Holder, you picked the wrong state to screw with... you’re not dealing with Colorado here. Creating trouble for Texas will bring untold pain onto you. But, go for it, you race-baiting, corrupt POS. Let’s see how far this goes.
