Breaking: Holder Tries to Re-grab Texas, Announces Nationwide Attack on Election Integrity

Breaking: Holder Tries to Re-grab Texas, Announces Nationwide Attack on Election Integrity

J. Christian Adams

Two important developments this morning. First: Attorney General Eric Holder will announce that the Justice Department will initiate broad nationwide attacks on election integrity measures like Voter ID using the remaining portions of the Voting Rights Act. Last month, the Supreme Court struck down the 1965 triggers that forced 15 states to submit election law changes to Washington D.C. for federal approval.

Second: despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, the Justice Department announced it will try to recapture Texas under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act by showing the state continues to act with a racially discriminatory intent when passing voting laws.

Some of Holder’s reaction is because dozens of highly paid federal employees are now idled. James Buchanan won the Nobel Prize in Economics by explaining Holder’s actions as Public Choice Theory — bureaucrats announce policies to help bureaucrats, even if disguised as an act inspired by a public purpose.

For the last few weeks, Voting Section employees have taken extended coffee breaks, and even more extended lunches. But there was hope — outgoing Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez referred to the state of Louisiana as the “full employment for Voting Section lawyers state.”

That means Governor Bobby Jindal can expect more targeting by the DOJ Voting Section.

But this announcement is all about the midterm elections. Obama wants the House back, and the Justice Department is again being turned into a political weapon using the cloak of Civil Rights. This has become the new civil rights model. Because Democratic interests are so perfectly aligned with the civil rights establishment — in no small measure because of extreme block voting by American blacks — the DOJ is now an arm of the DNC.

Will states have the competence and ability to withstand Holder’s attack? There are ways. Whether they will use them remains to be seen.

I would be very surprised. I think we’ve seen more than enough blue, it’s time for it all to swing back the other way.

Excellent!....”The war waged by Eric holder’s Department of Justice... ‘to impose identity justice on America’... now moves from the George Zimmerman trial to voting litigation.”

You are so very right!

“Are you saying Buchanan’s theory only applied on the day he wrote it?”

No. The original post said “James Buchanan won the Nobel Prize in Economics by explaining Holder’s actions as Public Choice Theory . . ..” How could he win by means of something that occurred only decades after he won the prize? My comment merely indicated that the original post, important as the subject was, was not precisely-stated.

Are you saying Buchanan’s theory only applied on the day he wrote it?

"Where was Eric Holder while the IRS was engaged in shutting down the Tea Party leading up to the 2012 election?"

His lack of responsiveness in regard to the IRS corruption investigation (and Mueller's utter ignorance about the investigation his own FBI is supposedly pursuing) demonstrates the falsehood that "he cares" about the integrity of elections.

Anybody else ever notice how, when being sworn before testimony, Eric Holder puts his hand half way up, palm down, with a look of constipation on his face? ....As if to say, “can’t we dispense with this ancient crap?”

Holder’s body language says “I sorta pledge to tell some of the so-called ‘Truth’ if it happens to fit my larger purpose. Otherwise I’ll just pretend I don’t know.”

It’d be funny if the USSC held him in contempt forcing the congress to finally impeach his sorry ass.

“Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott will rip Eric the ho a new one over this”

Really? So is he pushing for TX independence?

“If this isn’t enough for Perry and Abbott to stand up and yell “Hell No!” and talk seccession, nothing will.”

Perry is a tool for the banksters and about as bright as a tree stump. Don’t expect leadership from him. Abbott on the other hand is more intriguing.

TX secession is probably a nonstarter. None of the politicians are going to rock the boat. And even if Texas voted tomorrow for independence, the military would simply be sent in to stop it from happening. Texas is too wealthy to be allowed to leave. When and if a state is able to secede, it’ll be one that is looked upon as more of a liability than an asset.

I don’t see where anyone in Texas needs to push for that.

Practically everyone and everything in the Obama administration is doing a fine job of that right now.

The more little bammy’s crew beats up on Texas, the more they reveal themselves for what they really are, a gang of communist thugs.

“Greg Abbott will be the next Governor of Texas.”

I don’t doubt it, the question is whether he is worth a damn? Any politician in the republicrat uniparty is considered suspect at best.

In my opinion, he is. That is really all that matters to me. I respect him for his guts dealing with the DOJ. Quite simply, he has my vote and support.

Greg Abbott will be the next governor of Texas

A Texas governor that has a thorough understanding of the law as well as the Constitution?

The communist punks in DC won't stand a chance.

I have nothing against Texas and think it’s a nice place with good people. That said, there is little that I see that indicates that Texas and Texans will ever do anything other than bitch and moan.
