The landmark health-reform law passed in 2010 has never been very popular and always highly partisan, but a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that a group of once loyal Democrats has been steadily turning against Obamacare: Democrats who are ideologically moderate or conservative.

Gives you a little insight into how much Obama is truly governed by his own hubris that he’s not throwing up his hands and running for the tall grass at the mere sight of this.
Both of them?
WTH is a “moderate democrat”?
The law will be gone by the end of January 2014.
There is NO such creature as a “Moderate Democrat”! The WHOLE DAMN “Party” is COMMNNIST and FACIST!
What do you base this presumption on?

The only thing that changes in the Democrat party is Nancy underwear once a month.
WTH is a moderate democrat?
A weak kneeded pseudo conservative that believes all the lies about Republicans the MSM spews out and thus they call themselves democraps, but in reality they are more aligned with conservative values, but they just won’t admit it because they buy the whole MSM lie that conservatives and Republicans are evil...
This is why the Dems are going to dump Obamacare by the end of January next year.
Bet on it. The ground work is already being laid:
1. Delays in parts of the law.
2. Harry Reid complaining about the funding levels.
3. Continuing lawsuits by religious organizations.
4. AFL-CIO letter.
5. Obama campaigning for it.
“Democrats who are ideologically moderate or conservative.”
Is there such a thing? I doubt it. These are Democrats just as ideologically “moderate” and liberal Republicans are Democrats by another name.
What we have here are rats leaving a sinking ship. You’ll probably find that those Democrats suddenly opposing Obamacare are the ones up for reelection in 2014.
Limbaugh theorem. Technically Obama could claim it wasn’t his law.
I hope you are right. What do you think about next years elections? 2016?
Oh sure, these “moderate Dems” are agaisnt it going into an election year. But, I guarn”damn”tee that once they get re-elected they won’t do anything to defund it or get rid of it.
there’s a problem with the importance of the numbers
the “Moderate and Conservative” Democrats are, in Congress, publicly nearly nameless and faceless as only Marxist/Progressive/Uber-Liberals are in charge of the party and the party line and the public party message
to actually have a LEADING role in the Democratic party
moderate and Conservative Democrats need their own “Tea Party”
Unions realized their exemptions go away and they have “Cadillac” plans.
I wish I could be more optimistic, but Obamacare is here to stay. We may get some rollbacks on the law, but with Obama still in office, and a Hillary presidency looming, I think we’re stuck with it.
I hope you’re right.
Oh, but they’ll be fine with it right after the election.
2014 elections should be good for GOP both house and senate. If Issa keeps up a slow trickle and lands the big one (IRS) around January/Feb, you’ll see a GOP win. The scandals need to be fully drawn out.
What is your count(House and Senate) and will it make any differance in the Obama Reign of Terror(error)?
I think the worst case scenario is that there will be no change in the current overall majorities of both Houses; best case the GOP takes the Senate.
2016 is too far away.
With all the ammunition the republicans have, they should sweep both houses. But I’ve thought that before.
don’t worry, GOPe will keep those conservative dems right where they are.
Until results show up at the voting booth, these polls mean nothing.
Though I think it does present an opportunity if the GOP had the righ candidate for 2016.
RE: Technically Obama could claim it wasnt his law.
Might as well be his...
1) He signed it.
2) Campaigned for it.
3) Fought for it in the courts.
4) Said in his 2012 campaign that he actually likes the fact that it’s named after him.
IMO, house will stay close to what it currently is...while the senate could gain 5. Alaska is a big one for GOP to win the senate seat. They need to spend time and money there.
I’m hoping for six in the senate, otherwise Biden would hold the tie breaker.
A lot of this depends on how well Issa and the GOP can deliver on the scandals. IRS beingthe biggest.
I believe all registered Democrats should be forced into ObamaCare.
correct, but you forgetting about the Limbaugh theorem. Has reality stopped Obama from distancing himself from other issues?
Olympia Snow would call this “unfortunate.”
It will train wreck in such a manner that tens of millions will find themselves without coverage and will PANIC.
The CRISIS will be used to usher in Single Payer, their goal all along. Perhaps with the interim step of a Public Option.
What’s a “conservative democrat?”
“Democrats who are ideologically moderate or conservative.” now here is an oxymoron if there ever was one!
No Hillary. Jeb Bush.
Barring something weird happening, of course.
There’s little practical difference between them.
There the libs continue to support Obamacare at near-record levels... what a bunch of blithering, knuckledragging idiots.
Those libs are more concerned to seeing to it that there are no EEEEEEVIL PROFITS connected to our healthcare than with the actual quality of that care.
You don’t get single payer without a Dem House and a Dem supermajority in the Senate. If Obamacare collapses, I don’t see the voting public running back into the arms of the Dems to provide an even bigger Gvt solution.
I will believe that when Reid brings repeal to a vote on the Senate floor. The House has already repealed it something like 37 times.
They need more pork. We know they all can be bought for a price. There is nothing moderate about whores.
RE: Whats a conservative democrat?
Someone like Ronald Reagan, who LEFT the party.
A “Moderate Democrat” is one who doesn’t understand that the result of their policy prescriptions is necessarily slavery.
With all the ammunition the republicans have, they should sweep both houses. But Ive thought that before.
Even if the Republicrats were to sweep both houses of Congress, they'd keep voting for every hare-brained big government scheme that showed up.
Not reported on network news.
Pubbies almost always vote for these expanded CHiP programs and expanded Medicaid. What makes you think they’re not gonna vote for a Public Option in the middle of a panic crisis?
