Young black males are at greater risk from their peers than from the police or white civilians.
Last week President Obama weighed in again on the Trayvon Martin episode. Sadly, most of what he said was wrong, both literally and ethically.
Pace the president, the Zimmerman case was not about Stand Your Ground laws. It was not a white-on-black episode. The shooting involved a Latino of mixed heritage in a violent altercation with a black youth.
Is it ethical for the president to weigh in on a civil-rights case apparently being examined by his own Justice Department? The president knows that if it is true that African-American males are viewed suspiciously, it is probably because statistically they commit a disproportionate amount of violent crime. If that were not true, they might well be given no more attention as supposed suspects than is accorded to white, Asian, or Latino youths. Had George Zimmerman been black, he would have been, statistically at least, more likely to have shot Trayvon Martin — and statistically likewise less likely to have been tried. (snip)

There are quite a few blacks who have a civilized culture but the prevailing black culture is very warped and the teenage male subset is psychopathic.
We keep talking about 'race' but it is culture, not race, that is their problem. Many young African blacks who come to this country are much more civilized than young American blacks since they were not raised as ganstas who want to become famous rappers and NBA stars. They want to learn, to work, to succeed. LBJ and his Great Society took our poor black families, under the appearance of "help," and proceeded to destroy them by setting up the government as the bread winner for poor black families and pushing the fathers out of the picture. Who needs a father and a family when you've got your gang?
Obama and Holder should admit that that black culture is disfunctional instead of telling white people it is all our fault because we are racist and we profile.
Black "leaders" do NOTHING to try to help fix the problem but just sit and watch it worsen. And earn power and money off it. People like Cosby occasionally speak the truth but they are trashed, laughed at, or ignored. If only these people would band together and forcefully tell the truth, things could slowly turn around. It will take many years. But unless we get obama and his minions out, the economic situation will not improve and the task will be much harder.
Several months ago, a liberal friend of mine (yes, I have a few) was looking at an article about some group (American Indians maybe?) and their problems. I hadn't read the article but only saw the headline. As he put the paper down he said, "I'm starting to think the more we try to help people, the more we hurt them." I was stunned into silence.
We both had places to go to right away, so it was not a time to start a conversation, and we spoke our 'seeyalaters.' Maybe that was for the best, since anything I said might have made him think, "Wow, I must be losing it. I agree with a crazy conservative. It must just be a momentary thing. Gotta get my progressive mind back in charge." Maybe letting that thought that he arrived at on his own simmer was for the best. Some day in the future, when the time is right, I might need to say, "Remember the time you said..."

Let's not forget that black culture is also anti-education. Apparently in the last 30 years or so, it became a sign of weakness to be educated. Educated blacks are called "Uncle Tom's" or "Plantation Niggers," because education and academia in general are considered "white establishment."
It's truly mind-boggling to me that blacks have turned the way they have. Not 60 years ago, blacks in this country went through an enormous struggle for genuine equality in American society. They had goals and dreams and aspirations. Black men and women became doctors, nurses, lawyers, and teachers. They raised families, were ardent churchgoing people, and loved the same music and television that the rest of the nation enjoyed.
Nowadays, blacks are looking for any get-rich-quick scheme available. They waste their money on lotto. They don't want to work. They disdain white people and American culture in general. They aspire to little more than meeting "the man's" very low social bar. They eschew the music and television of white people, American people in general. They find more pleasure in a quick hook up, pornography, expensive liquor, and cultural norms that glorify money, cars, naked women, and materialism overall.
Older blacks are watching as all of the hard work they put in for genuine equality is being thrown into the wastebin of history in lieu of a materialistic, violent, unethical lifestyle espoused by every man and woman in black culture.
There are notable exceptions, don't misunderstand me, but the norm seems to be as described.
