This happened back in the 60s and 70s. The results were a disaster. It was called neighborhood breaking as I recall.
Yeah, they called it block busting where I grew up.
A BLACK realtor called every family in the area and told the white people that the neighborhood was “changing” and that the real estate values were probably going down, so they’d better sell while they can. My dad was stubborn and decided to hold on.
We soon had nice black neighbors and my dad helped them out with how to do yard work. One night while they were asleep, someone broke in and stole their TV and stereo.
Sure nuff, one day I noticed that all of my friends had moved and I was the only white kid in sight. A guy down the street got sent off to prison for something. I was impressed. I never went outside since some of my new ‘playmates’ didn’t like white people too much. Almost completely black neighborhood before the summer was over.
Eventually, we got a great deal on a house in a nice area with a lot of kids. When we moved out of the first house, we couldn’t give the new owner the keys since we didn’t have keys.
We got a locksmith to make new keys. One day, during our move, my dad forgot and left the keys in the door. Five minutes and they were stolen. The locksmith was called in again.
The joys of changing a culture rapidly. Disaster, as you said. That’s why the obama and his crew want to move in as many Mexicans as they can. Recipe for disaster. That’s the plan.
