Kicking off a day of nationwide protests for Trayvon Martin, his mother vowed to fight for victims of gun violence at a gathering this morning in Harlem.
“We have moved on from the verdict,” Sybrina Fulton told a crowd at the National Action Network on W. 145th Street.
“Of course we are hurting,” she added. “Of course we are shocked and disappointed, but that just means we have to roll up our sleeves and continue to fight.”
It has been a week since a Florida jury acquitted George Zimmerman of murder and manslaughter charges. He shot Martin dead on February 26, 2012, while on neighborhood patrol.

She left her son with an aunt who was a gang banger..she bares every bit of responsibility for what her son turned out to be. I dont blame Trayvon entirely, living with gang bangers, it was a sure bet he would become one too

Do these airheads even know that the “Trayvon Martin’s mother” being pimped out by the left is NOT the woman who raised him? His mother for the last 14 years, i.e., his step-mother, gets no air time. She doesn’t buy into the alleged racism angle of the situation, so is kicked under the bus. If she doesn’t conform to their narrative, she doesn’t exist.
Wonder what cause(s) momma was involved in when she should have been finding out that her son was growing pot, illegally possessing a firearm, and stealing. And telling him it’s bad to attack someone or get a person down on the ground and beat them. That it’s bad, unchristian and illegal. That a person being beaten has a right to defend themselves, and that this can result in a bad boy gettin killed.
