I don’t think there’s any political clout to gain, by bailing Detroit out. It’s a dedicated Democratic city....it’s better to use resources on cities on the edge between the Democrats and Republicans.

Yes, some gang of 6 or gang of 8 or gang of 12 “moderate republicans” will get together and reach a “compromise”.

You can bet that Lindsey and McCain will be in that gang.

Part of the compromise will be to “never do another bailout for a city”, but it won’t be enforced because some court will decide that it is discrimination or some such nonsense.
