The director of Delawares tax-collection office said Friday that his agency accessed the federal tax records in 2010 of an unnamed taxpayer, believed to be former GOP Senate candidate Christine O´Donnell. Patrick Carter, director of the states division of revenue, would not identify Ms. O´Donnell as the taxpayer but said he approved the inquiry for routine purposes. A state Division of Revenue investigator accessed records on or after March 20, 2010 following information that came to the attention of the division, Mr. Carter said in a statement. The record access led the state revenue investigator

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Democrats basically believe that any threat to their hold on power constitutes a civil emergency, and any actions - legal or illegal - are justifiable, as long as the threat is neutralized.
Using the Lois Lerner script here, “just routine, just doing our job.”
Except it is actually a felony and Holder refused to prosecute because he is a slimy democrat hack.
The strong likelihood is that this was done with the knowledge and consent of Former Rep. Mike Castle (R) and The DE GOP. I badly want to see people go to jail over this.
Our state is doomed to be blue forever.
You seem to be implying that Republicans, both DE and GOPe, were simply innocent bystanders in this. Am I reading you right?
These two need to be dragged in and deposed under oath to find out who gave the order and to whom they gave the info...
The administration/IRS witch hunt was broader than expected.
No, I guess I'm implying that it had not occurred to me that Republicans would go after a fellow Republican in this way.
If that's the case, then I guess the problem staring us in the face.
Come next year and in years to come, we’ll still be paying our taxes to this demonstrably renegade organization, as our supposedly “conservative” House continues to sit on its hands and we are compelled to endure these continual stains on our Constitution.
We’ve already been taken over.
ST, it is very troubling that Republicans would even consider going after a fellow R, especially if that person won the primary fair and square.
I would never have believed it myself if Rove didn’t go on a tirade on FOX right after she won. If someone in his position would do that no reason to think he wouldn’t orchestrate a more sinister scheme.
Rove was mild compared to the hatred that came from Whigs in DE. A state party official screamed at me on the phone for supporting COD. They refused to acknowledge her as their candidate. State HQ in Wilmington had no literature and COD had to rent her own offices with zero money from the party. On election day, they voted for a self-avowed Marxist.
And to the NSA trolls, FU.
“House oversight committee Chairman Darrell E. Issa said Thursday hes baffled that the Justice Department declined to prosecute a government employee who apparently knowingly pried into tax records of a political candidate or donor, and said there should be a way for victims to know their rights have been violated.
“He also said letting state officials have access to federal tax records can be dangerous, and thats one reason to try to rein in the health care law, which will expand access to states that plan on running their own insurance exchanges.”
Aw, Jeez! Issa! “. . . one reason to try to rein in the health care law, . . .”?????
It is the best reason I can think of to replace the income tax with the FairTax and ABOLISH the IRS!
Get your head out of the sand!
“.. it is very troubling that Republicans would even consider going after a fellow R, especially if that person won the primary fair and square.”
The R has nothing to do with it. The R’s and D’s are just competing factions in the demopublican uniparty. Christine was not a member of the chummy Delaware uniparty and she reaped the whirlwind as a result.
If you didn't see it first hand, you could hardly imagine it. And now the Justice Department declines to investigate this obvious crime. But there is still hope maybe the DE AG will pursue it? Just kidding!
