Ron Christmas was my Battalion Commander during my lovely , leisurely stay on the isle of Parris. He was a humble , no nonsense, highly decorated Marine.
I’ll never forget him starring into my face and asking me “ Are you ready to kill the enemies of America if you are called upon to do so?”
After 13 weeks on Parris Island my answer was “ SIR , YES SIR “. He stepped off smartly and said “ Indeed I believe you will Son, indeed you will”!
