I believe that what happens to people that are in office long enough to want to attain a “leadership” position (in any party), is that they covet that position and all the trappings that go with it, so much so, that they will conduct their political affairs and agenda in such a way that the principles under which they originally believed in, are no longer as important as the “appearance” of what they feel they need to portray (correct or incorrectly) based on what they hear in the media.
Bottom line....the become unreliable and worthless politically-correct snakes.
