Two men were fatally shot inside a medical marijuana shop on Chester Avenue Wednesday, marking what may be the first homicides to occur inside a pot dispensary in Kern County.
Bakersfield police spokeswoman Michaela Beard said the department received a call at 9:49 a.m. of a shooting inside First Reliable, a medical marijuana collective at 217 Chester Ave. Officers found two people dead inside.
Beard said a dark-colored SUV was seen speeding from the area with a black male driver and an unknown race female passenger.

“This is for Trayvon.”
Oh, wait ...
This is impossible because young black men are saints.

why buy things in small amts and pay tax when you can take if free....
so many looney people out there, voting this crap in...
I find this news shocking.
This is about 3 miles from my house...... and I live in a pretty nice area. There are about a half dozen of these shops that have set up on a business strip. I drive past them daily, but pay no attention and haven’t seen any problems, rif raf, etc.
Just got shot ....
Toke hard, medical use, you know ...
Smoke coming out of bullet hole - stick finger in there.
Well, Trayvon was high on Marijuana when he assaulted Zimmerman and got himself shot and killed.
Not sure about FL, but in CA you need to be 18 Years Old to get a Medical Marijuana Card, and the stuff they sell at those dispensaries isn’t cheap.
Did Trayvon have a Medical Marijuana Card? If not, are they looking for the Dealer he bought the stuff from? The Dealer would be an accessory to Trayvon’s “murder”, but only if he was a Creepy Ass Cracker or a White Latino I’m sure.
In Trayvon’s case, is appears that Marijuana was a Gateway Drug to the afterlife.
what have I heard previously .... drug use, the victimless crime!!!
I never knew there were medical marijuana shops. No wonder they put that lady in NY who grew pot as a business - out of business - competition! I guess you need to be ‘certified’.
Imagine that - so many interested in another’s pain except that of the unborn. Hypocrites.
They rob these places for cash.
and the stuff they sell at those dispensaries isnt cheap.
So they rob and or they grow their own plants like Martin's cell showed but they don't want anyone watching them and they are suspicious. No community watchmen for them nor do they want anyone looking at them.
Thanks umgud.
>>this is just the beginning...
Yep. Just wait ‘til polygamy renders tribal fracturing and civil war.
Something to consider when discussing the legalization issue.
(As to legal drugs, anything that makes Demsheviks even more stupid is a plus, IMO>)
You are sadly mistaken. Pot is cash on the street. People who use drugs know drugs have monetary value - high grade pot is very expensive and these dispensaries have large amounts of it. It’s a double bonus for the crooks - dope and cash.
It’s the same reason home invasion robberies are increasing and most of them are drug related - it’s very lucrative and there is less chance it will be reported to the police. Look at the number of pharmacy robberies by people addicted to hillbilly heroin - they often don’t even ask for the cash - they want the pills. I don’t equate marijuana use to violence, but there are some very violent criminals engaged in the trade.
A large number of these shops continue to sell out the back door (without the taxes) hiding their illegal conduct under the cover of a legal dispensary. Many of the folks who have opened these dispensaries have been cultivating and selling marijuana long before they obtained a license. It’s the best of all worlds - they can appear legit and make money dispensing some weed at the counter and they have the cover of legal business and make even more out the back door and in their grow rooms.
IMO, we can pass laws legalizing the marijuana trade, but many of the people “licensed” to do so will continue to break the law as have many of the medical marijuana patients that are only allowed to grow a few plants, but have many. The state will never realize the projected tax revenue because they are essentially de-criminalizing possession while they keep the illegal trade lucrative (avoiding taxes).
LOL!
I haven’t laughed this hard since Bill Caligula was impeached!
+100 trillion!
IMHO, your statement misses the mark still; especially since one can GROW it themselves.
I believe, this was a simple case of ‘where the $$ is at’
