A member of the jury that found George Zimmerman not guilty in the shooting death of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin called for changes in Florida's self-defense law, which she said gave jurors no option but to acquit the defendant.

The juror's statement adds to pleas from around the country to change the Stand Your Ground laws that more than 30 states have adopted. In Florida, demonstrators occupied a part of the governor's office demanding that the state repeal or curtail its 2005 law.

With her identity kept secret, the juror, designated B-37, gave an interview to CNN on Monday that stirred further debate in the case that captivated the U.S. public and triggered lengthy discussions about race, guns and self-defense laws.

After receiving a torrent of criticism, including a statement to CNN from four other jurors who said she did not speak for them, the juror issued a statement further stressing her position that Florida's self-defense law, commonly known as Stand Your Ground, forced the jury to vote not guilty....

Let me guess...she wants the law to require confirmation from a panel of three doctors that a particular assault a person is experiencing can cause serious harm (or death) before said assaultee can defend him/herself.

If I understand correctly, Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law did not apply in the Zimmerman case. If such is the case, do concerned citizens possibly have the wires crossed?

yeah, let’s pass a law against not using good judgement. And then as a test case, let’s prosecute Juror B-37 with it. She wants laws so that she can convict a man who did nothing wrong simply because she feels sorry for Travon and his parents.

Punishing an innocent man isn’t going to bring Travon back. An B-37 exemplifies poor judgement when she calls for more laws.

She won’t be anonymous for long.
The notoriety will be too much .
She’ll want her 15 minutes of fame.

I guess she’d rather Zimmerman wear a diaper, mumble gibberish and drink his meals out of a sippy cup for the rest of his life?

“Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law did not apply in the Zimmerman case.”

Self defense doesn’t fit the agenda.

I wish that jurors where forbidden by law to talk about the case.

And no monetary gain!!

That would be better for all.

I was reading the Seattle Times editorial yesterday, and it said the BEST way to "honor " Trayvon is to get rid of SYG once and for all.

Where the f$*% was SYG EVER used or brought up in this case?

What's the deal with liberals completely changing the subject and immediately passing assinine laws or casting blame in a completely different direction during these "tragedies"?

Matthew Sheppard was killed because he was gay. ERGO, Exodus International is to blame according to Katie Couric. Huh?

Newtown psycho kills innocent children, therefore universal background checks are necessary, NOW.

Huh?

Hispanics don't vote for republicans higher than 30%, so in order to not piss them off further, legalize 30 million illegal aliens.

Huh?

ALL those associated with the Trial of Zimmerman are out making fast bucks, on Talk Show circuits, interviews to enhance their opportunities to sell their stories, etc.

The Huge Manatee that can't even read or speak English is raking in the bucks because Political Correctness (accomodation of Black parasite ignorance) is the Rule of the Day.

I heard Greta Van Sustern say last night that she read the SYG law, and that it’s nothing more than a regular self-defense law.

But, I do believe, that SYG offers up immunity from civil lawsuits.

They can still sue, but if they lose, they have to pay you

After the backlash she got from the liberal media she’s starting to change her story around. She should have never opened her mouth in the first place. Must too soon.
