African Americans benefit from Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law at a rate far out of proportion to their presence in the state’s population, despite an assertion by Attorney General Eric Holder that repealing “Stand Your Ground” would help African Americans.
Black Floridians have made about a third of the state’s total “Stand Your Ground” claims in homicide cases, a rate nearly double the black percentage of Florida’s population. The majority of those claims have been successful, a success rate that exceeds that for Florida whites.
Nonetheless, prominent African Americans including Holder and “Ebony and Ivory” singer Stevie Wonder, who has vowed not to perform in the Sunshine State until the law is revoked, have made “Stand Your Ground” a central part of the Trayvon Martin controversy.
Holder, who was pressured by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and other progressive groups to open a civil rights case against acquitted neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in the 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Martin, criticized Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” self-defense law in a speech Tuesday before the NAACP.

FWIW, Cleveland TV had a case of a homeowner shooting intruders, hit them but didn't kill them. It was a black guy defending his property and loved ones.
What would the murder rate in the black community be, if the innocent didn’t have the right to defend themselves from the roving thug gangs?
SYG is obviously a direct assault on the “rights” and “oppertunities” of the CRIMINAL CLASS. Race simply ain’t a part of it.
To hell with the rights of the rest of (black AND white) society in general—we gotta let the thugs free reign to ‘do their thang’.

I used to work in a gun shop in what was not the best part of town. Some of our best customers were older black men who had worked their lives away to pay off a mortgage, only to find the neighborhood around them had quit civilization by the time they reached retirement. Never seen a bunch of guys with such scared looks in their eyes.
Yes they do, and successfully. But SYG was not even an issue in the Zimmerman case because it was a matter of self defense. Once again the libs confusing the matters for social engineering purposes with their low information voters.
An honest black person's right to defend themselves is more important because crime in black neighborhoods is so high.. The reason liberal elites are talking down 'stand your ground' is elites tend to stand with criminals in black neighborhoods. (this is one more example of that)

What I see happening is that the ptb have decided to replace black lower-income labor with hispanics. Blacks seem to be catching on that it's jobs that their communities need, and the hispanics are taking them, they're causing friction as they move into fragile neighborhoods, and they're impacting the share of handouts going to the black community. Interesting that the has-been rabble rousers that are trying to get blacks to riot drowned out the responsible protest in DC about opposing "immigration reform" because it takes jobs from blacks, isn't it?
I've been describing it as genocide by demographics. Black women (and girls) are given birth control like it's candy. They're being replaced in jobs. And now, they're being asked to get rowdy over Trayvon Martin, which will serve to make many people less sympathetic to the plight responsible blacks face, hardest hit by the recession and the invasion of the US.
