Shows how times have changed. For a couple of years, a Muslim girl whose father was part of the diplomatic corps from some Muslim country attended our Catholic girls prep school.
During Ramadan she would sit with the rest of us in the lunch room and chat. It never occurred to us not to eat just because she couldn’t eat (and back in those days, we had our own fast days, etc.).
And, apparently it never occurred to her or her parents to ask us not to eat. She could have sat in the lounge during lunch, but I think she enjoyed the company (her parents married her off right at graduation, so she wasn’t going to be a carefree girl for much longer) and she managed to deal with watching us eat.
Everybody’s got some special thing. Why not just deal with your special thing on your own and leave everyone else alone to deal with their special thing?

I guess if a Christian child wanted to fast on Good Friday, he would be told to go suck eggs, and the rest of the class would be told to laugh at him.

I think this country will be the same, celebrating Ramadan within a few years - certainly Hussein will push it and if Hillary is president, she will, too. Don’t tick off the Muslim killers, do whatever is required to keep them happy - oh, and become a Muslim, too, it’s great! /s
