Snowden documents could be 'worst nightmare' for U.S. - journalist

Fugitive former U.S. spy contractor Edward Snowden controls dangerous information that could become the United States' "worst nightmare" if revealed, a journalist familiar with the data said in a newspaper interview.

Glenn Greenwald, the Guardian journalist who first published the documents Snowden leaked, said in a newspaper interview published on Saturday that the U.S. government should be careful in its pursuit of the former computer analyst.

"Snowden has enough information to cause harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had," Greenwald said in an interview in Rio de Janeiro with the Argentinian daily La Nacion.

"The U.S. government should be on its knees every day begging that nothing happen to Snowden, because if something does happen to him, all the information will be revealed and it could be its worst nightmare."

The damage won’t be to the country. It will be the paper trail to the White House and beyond. Not damage proof. Period.

The damage was already done to the country, and that damage is the spying on law-abiding Americans.

Remember friends, an out-of-control government is more dangerous to us than any foreign power, and how easily we forget it. A foreign power cannot destroy or subvert the Constitution, but the US government sure as hell can.

I have a feeling that those involved (Greenwald, etc.) are finding the avenues for publishing being closed off to them...

Solid deduction. This thing is radioactive. For good reason, apparently.

If he can show that Zero was elected after it was known by the Elite that he was a foreign born citizen...

Isn't it a given that the Elites of both corrupt parties knew in any case? W's alphabet agencies vetted him.

No -- what Snowden has is...the type of dynamite that rocks our entire Constitutional foundation and exposes a working network in place that resembles Stasi or Gestapo machination.

I don’t think any one has believed Fort Knox has contained anything other than old Playboy Mags and empty Schlitz cans.

What makes you think Snowden's info and "secrets" necessarily jeopardize US Security is ANY way?

I believe he indicated he had access to such information from his first interview. He indicated he was not interested in selling information like that to other countries because it would harm the US, which was not his intent. His intent was to inform us citizens (and other countries) how WE are being harmed......how our freedoms are being trampled on.

He likely has a means by which "Pandora's box", as you called it, will be opened if anything happens to him. That is what Greenwold is warning the US about.

Agree on your characterization. And Snowden's intent as a Whistleblower of our Constitutional Rights and freedom.

Unleashing that would clean up some filthy goings-on.

I thought that’s what I said. But I’m not eloquent on my good days. I just know that it will all come out in the wash and Laundry Day is on the horizon.

If Zero had another four years, America would be Nazi Germany...

I believe that we haven’t had a real election in this country in decades, and I believe that both parties are in on that little secret.

you know, I thought that same thing. however, what I don’t understand is, for example, if Romney knew it wasn’t a real election, you mean he was acting all that time? why would a guy worth hundreds of millions put in that kind of effort?
its hard to fathom.

I have the feeling that Snowden showed the Russians that anything on a computer wasn’t safe !
Especially since Micro$oft has given encryption keys to ‘PRIZM’
That’s why they are now doing more on typewriters.
We should all take a lesson !

wait a minute, it just entered my thick skull. a couple of weeks after snowden enters Russia, the Russians decide to go back to typewriters. holy crap.

Satan is real, and people get corrupted in many ways. Human choices can often seem mysterious, but if you factor in the influence of Satan, you begin to see why people might behave in some unexpected ways.

Note it mentions harm to the US Govt, not the US itself. Not sure if I trust any of the actors in this drama, though - Govt or Snowden or Greenwald.

I don't think it matters who is in the WH. Remember, there were plenty of Republicans defending Obama's administration on the NSA stuff, and much of the NSA stuff grew out of programs the Bush administration was creating or supporting.

The only difference between either party these days is how fast they want to take us down the road to socialism. One wants to cut the brake lines and stomp on the gas, the other is fine with a leisurely 55mph.

willywill ~:" wait a minute, it just entered my thick skull. a couple of weeks after snowden enters Russia, the Russians decide to go back to typewriters. holy crap."

EXACTLY !!
Now consider the fact that Snowden has much more information to release,
and has strategicly duplicated his information "in case something may happen to him ".
It is in the U.S. government's best interest to keep him health now .. go figure !
I don't recall if the Russians typewriters are manual , or electric though ...
But it does make one think of the .. "X Files ", or the "Bourne trilogy"

Sounds like a bit of Texas Hold’em on the part of Snowden.

Or to quote Dirty Harry - “Make my day”.

The truth has been available for decades to anyone with the capability to read. Most Americans choose to still consider it all nutcase conspiratorial nonsense because it goes against what they were taught in public schools and colleges.

Until I rode on an Air America DC-3 over in Viet Nam that was loaded with opium, I too believed the published nonsense about the USA and our fighting the drug wars to protect American children. Once I saw the truth myself that blew the cover off of it all. Now I don’t believe a word that any politician says.

Rubio was a great talker but his actions spoke the truth louder. Issa is another great talker but the lack of criminal convictions speak louder than he ever will.

Watch the video in my tagline. http://vimeo.com/63749370

This is rapidly changing, but unfortunately it may be too little too late. Take the Snowden case for instance; How could anyone possibly believe the word of THIS guv over Snowden? FWIW I agree 100% with your assessment.

Thanks for speaking out on this. Many still won't believe you eyewitness testimony and the farce called, 'The War on Drugs.'

Hear ya. ALL smoke and mirrors from these two and the collaborative .guv in general. Issa had more than enough evidence to jettison Erik The H to Sing-Sing. And didn't.

Thanks for the link -- I'll check it out, B4.

Snowden’s dead man’s switch is likely why Russia, aka U.S. intelligence, is now entertaining asylum for him. The longer Snowden can be induced to keep the key inactive, the less damaging the information becomes. For example, give him a dacha and the run of a brothel for the rest of his life versus death if he discloses anything. Lofty principles may melt away.

Although, the data that Snowden must enter to extend the suspension of the decryption key could be detected by monitoring his keystrokes.
