The question I have is, why 6 juriors and NOT 12 juriors to begin with?

It is a non capital case and states make their own laws, in Fla. it is a six person jury when the death penalty is not on the table.
Six jurors is just the law in Florida. The less jurors the less chance of a hung jury. The deck was stacked against Zimmerman when no men were allowed to be on the jury. The one token alternate would have never been chosen unless the other women alternates had died. They put 6 women on the jury, and no men, because they automatically figured that women didn’t have as much sense about self-defense as a man does. Six women, with five of them having a bunch of kids. To say the jury is exactly what the State wanted is an understatement. And if they show courage and tell the Obama race baiters to go to hell they are not convicting an innocent man, Federal charges will be filed by Eric Holder on Zimmerman for violating the civil rights of Traythug. He will then be tried again before an all black jury.
