It is a non capital case and states make their own laws, in Fla. it is a six person jury when the death penalty is not on the table.

I did my research this morning before I had to step out and the answer is the same, based on a state court ruling.

Before I had to step out early this morning, to answer the question, I did some internet search and found some links and it says it is legit to have half the number of jurors, 6, instead of the tradional 12.
