Under new rules, GOP would have no say in Obama pick for Homeland Security...
Why do we need a new rule? The GOP wouldn’t have said or done anything anyway. Even if they did, who in the admin would bother listening?

Do it.
In 2014, don’t change the rule.

Van Jones (or equivalent) will head the DHS then!

Don't the Republicans rubber-stamp Democrat choices 99% of the time anyway? Like having a choice makes any difference in the outcome?

Obama does as he pleases. He tells the GOP to go to hell anyway.

Don’t they still have a rule that any senator can put a hold on any nominee?

When is it the nuclear option and when is it the constitutional option?
To: markomalley
So that’s why Reid went ‘nuclear’?

It doesn't matter about the "rules".
Obama and his posse ignore most of them anyway.

Perhaps the timing of Harry and Janet is not the coincidence it might seem to be.
To: austinaero
No such thing as coincidence in this evil administration. It is all planned to a tee!

Do you suppose that Harry Reid knew that Napolitano was about to resign, so decided to change the rules?

We need a Senate that is independent of the party politics of the likes of Harry "Casino Daddy" Reid.
We need to repeal the 17th Amendment.
