There are two questions.
Do conservatives give a damn about community? And do conservatives buy American?
Yes on the first. In fact, emphatically yes, on the first. But increasingly ... no on the second.
So basically, no also on the first.
I don’t mean to pick on conservatives here, because liberals are just as anti-American as conservatives in this regard.
But ALL Americans need to start buying American products.
Now.
I agree, be a builder, not a destroyer.
Just look at any thread about Detroit and you can see why conservatives have no chance of ever really bringing America back. You’ve got a small group of conservatives, republicans, and private investors trying to do something and you’ve got the bulk of conservatives standing around with their hands in their pockets criticizing.

As I recall, it was generally successful if the adherent suspended the materialistic ideals espoused by most Americans.
If we went back to simple, agrarian lifestyles, I think it would be not only possible but more practical to buy American.
We need to restructure our international laws, to encourage American manufacturing again.
America seems to be stuck, on selling-out American manufacturing.
We need to fix that, and we need to once again encourage American production.
Now.
Kind of a tough argument because statist collectivists have REALLY infected governments at the local level.
Not much left made in America these days to buy..but there is always Amish furniture.
In the diseased mind of the libtard, "community" is government stealing money from everyone to ensure some unattainable utopian society where everyone is "equal". To the conservative, "community" is a place where there is some semblance of normalcy, where individuals/residents make choices that tend to benefit themselves and their families, but also (as a byproduct of those actions) the population around them.

What is the root word of “community”?
Now, add the suffix “ism” at the end, to signify a system of belief in something - IOW, giving a damn about.

One of the casualties of the growth of government would be civic organizations. In a prior America, these did yeoman service in providing things to the poor, and doing things in a community that needed doing, especially in small communities. Today, such organizations have trouble raising money to do anything- people’s taxes are too high and government regulations, insurance requirements, and legal liability issues strangle attempts to do good things, and because of a lack of Judeo-Christian values, people seldom make the attempt.
Now there's a reason for them to try and destroy religion in the US.
It sure isnt liberals. Sure they may throw a concert and donate the proceeds to a charity that they know little about but get their own hands dirty; i haven’t seen any if it with my own eyes but i have with conservatives who dont just donate money to disaster relief or charities that actually help people and are volunteers and on the scene doing the actual helping
Scrap the tax system, go back to tariffs and stamps, and encourage American business to prosper by investing in our manufacturing, agriculture, and technology sectors.

I buy American when I find such stuff. Have you looked at labels recently? It’s hard to tell what is MADE in America and what is just packaged in America. Clothing? Nothing. Our labels, yes, but not made here. I drive a Chrysler T&C.
It is conservatives that give the most to charities, and I’m not talking about political organizations. The left touts their brand, but nearly ALL is given to organizations to influence public policy, school education of the Marxist type, etc. Conservatives tend to give to really charitable organizations that support children, families, missionaries, church functions like our church’s food pantry and clothing drive, pregnancy crisis center, etc. Conservatives tend to be the ones who give to their neighbors in need, while democrats send them to the welfare office...we get to care for them that way too with our taxes. Democrats tend to be the tax-evading ones. Every notice the list of “farmers” that get government farm aide? Yeah, I know both sides take bucks there, but by and far the democrats who are the millionaire/billionaire club members take subsidies! It is conservatives that rush in first with most of the time to help other communities when tragedy strikes. So, don’t give me this bull about whether conservatives care about community, and let’s not let the left define what community is. To them, it is the government making sure no one is poor. That is a failed policy, visible from the whole of the 20th century. Poverty in America is not what it used to be when I was growing up.
Buy some American products, most, ALL?

I was initially going to make a snarky comment about finally wanting to buy a flat screen TV, but there were no US made ones. But, I figured that I had better do my research first.
I was wrong! (first time ever! yeah, right)
Element Electronics is making flat screen HDTV in Detroit! So I checked the web to learns dealers, prices, reviews.
“Probably the worst quality television I have ever encountered. Element’s refurbishing appeared to be opening the box, making sure the remote and base were in there and closing it back up because I found the remote broken, not in a bag, and with extra batteries clunking around in the box when opened. The base and back of the unit were scratched, and there was a puncture in the remote. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was a thumb size print in the middle of the screen that showed up much much lighter no matter what image was on the screen. The edge lighting was horrible, with bright white patches on even the darkest images. The claim that this was 1080p and 120hz may be somehow technically true, but the resolution and refresh were awful, and no matter how much tinkering and adjusting with settings left the image blurry and ghosting with minimal movement on the screen. I wasn’t expecting much from Element for the price, but it was unwatchable. I’ll never take a chance on Element again. “
Sometimes it is just not practical or reasonable to “Buy American”.
The gov’t made the rules so American companies cannot compete equally in the market. The problem is not the consumer.
What is an American product these days? software, phone support, advertising, legal work, and accounting are all now outsourced to India.
