A vast operations center with tiered seating. A briefing theater. Spacious offices. Fancy chairs. Powerful air conditioning.
Everything, that is, except troops.

If my enemy was so incredibly stupid that they would build such a building just to leave it vacant I’d never stop fighting them.
Sequester the whole damn muslim world.
A local girl went over there as some kind of liaison to the women of remote Afghan villages. She said she had big noble dreams of bringing liberation to the Afghan women. What she found was ignorance and brutality at the hands of the women just as much as the men. She says all the women want is a husband who won’t beat her or rape her daughter when they don’t deserve it. All pent up rage and anger is directed at daughters and other women because that’s the only permissible place to release it. Sons are worshiped as islamic warriors and must not be harmed by a filthy woman.
Today her solution is to round up every child under 12 for evacuation and kill every living thing that’s left.
You would be shocked at the waste in Afghanistan.
Well, maybe you wouldn’t be, but I sure was.
Use the building for an all girls school.

The last FOB I was at, we were building as though we are going to stay a hundred years. That included a brand new runway & facilities that would accommodate C-17’s.
The buildings will be torn apart for the cooking fires within 6 months after our departure - if not already.
