Former President George W. Bush today cheered on the progress in pushing comprehensive immigration reform through Congress.
The legislative process can be ugly, Bush said with a chuckle in an interview aired today on ABCs This Week. But it looks like they're making some progress.

I, on the other hand, believe whatever it is the last person tells me.
AND I WILL STAND FAST IN THAT TRUTH!
STAY OUT OF THE BUSHES |
I am beyond sick of these entitled nuts .
These Bushes need to go back to the country clubs and stay there.
He was a good governor, president , ehh....
Do you think either of these two could have shoved the Patriot act, TSA and drug entitlements through the R dominated house and senate? The lesser of two evils argument is is a dead horse, please stop beating it.
Mainly lurking and reading these threads a few years ago, I remember when it was then “Jorge Bush”, with photos too. Funny stuff.
“I despise GW Bush only a smidgeon less than 0dumb0shit! “
And you can add in Daddy and Jeb too. Daddy was a CFR “devotee.” No more Bushes!!!
I always felt that Bush wanted sooooo much to be ‘liked’, that he bent over backwards (to Kennedy), to hiring (Paulson - a Rat at Treasury)... and to the Arabs (Iraq invasion was conducted in a ‘politically-correct’ fashion with the least amount of ground forces possible, that’s why the borders were porous and the insurgency took hold and the ‘surge’ was needed later).
The guy was never nothing more than a well-connected clueless politically-correct make-believe-conservative. Just like his entire family.
Back in the old days, they would’ve been Kennedy Democrats.
Me too
FUGWB!!!
Go away damn it!
Is this a surprise to anybody? Bush supported “immigration reform” (i.e. amnesty) to the same tune as McCain and Kennedy while in office. Why would we expect anything different or better from him now? Brother Jeb is even worse on this issue, and it looks as though he’s worming his way to the 2016 GOP ticket.
I tried to post the Rick Perry announcement that he won’t run in 2012. I wouldn’t post. This must make GWB pleased because he never had respect for Perry.
The American people in both parties are incapable of correcting any of this.
What a stupid non-reply that doesn't refute anything. Not that I'm surprised by that.
You do seem to be a bit sympathetic to the amnesty push, then. Not surprising.
What part of "I agree that they should stop (a)mnesty" don't you understand?
Which is no reason to throw open the gates and welcome tens of millions of Democrat voters along with their extended families.
See above.
Yes, you've posted this before. But it doesn't change the cold fact that Hispanics elect Democrats.
How do you know I'm not one, hmmmm?
Calm down. How many Republicans mouth conservative platitudes and then show their stripes once they get into office? It might take less time to make a list of those who don't. My governor, Bob McDonnell, is a perfect example. He ran on no new taxes, but just recently gave us the largest tax increase in Virgnia history.
There's more to that than you posted. Yes, he flip flopped, but only after running out of options. More here.
And then there are the moderate/liberal GOP scum who do their best to stifle and shut down every truly conservative candidate who makes it to Washington.
Elected by their...
Oh what's the point, when you can't understand that concept?
LOL, and you still don't get it. If Republicans support amnesty, sodomite marriage, and everything else the left does, there is no greater evil. They are the same. Can you demontrate how they would be different? If your party supports queer marriage, amnesty, etc., there is no greater evil. In supporting that, you support evil and help further it.
You attack me for saying that we have RINOs because that's who the voters are electing, then choose to ignore that when pointing this out.
As I have said, there is only one solution, and that is to win Americans over to Conservative values.
By awarding amnesty, right? Why not just come out and say it.
Because it would contradict my statement that they should stop amnesty.
The increasingly leftward GOP is not my idea of "succeeding."
Agree, it's my idea of failing to win Americans over to Conservative values.
That hunk of plastic probably has a better grip on reality than you.
What part of "we have to win Americans over to Conservative values if we're going to get Conservatives elected again" do you say is wrong?
And your statistics to show the impact of that are? NEVER again will I vote for a RINO. I have drawn a line in the sand that will never be crossed.
1992. Clinton. 2016. Clinton. Enough said.
Our Republic is being destroyed by the RATs and the GOPe pukes.
So what are you going to do to convince voters to vote for real Conservatives?
I mean, besides ask me if I'm Karl Rove?
Conservatives need to view the GOPe and RATs as equal enemies.
So we shouldn't support Conservatives like Bachmann, Haley, and others? Instead, we should take our votes from them and allow the middle to elect RINOs? That's your great plan for fixing this mess?
(From another post) You don't belong on this site if you think "the voters are going hard left" That's a disgusting comment.
2006. 2008. 2012.
I'm wondering how you can get "I'm Karl Rove" out of "We need to win Americans over to Conservative values if we're going to get Conservatives elected again."
I hope you’re not buying sand88’s spin on my posts.
