No way a mother could forget her baby in the car.

Just an excuse for a postpartum abortion.

How f***ed up do you have to be to leave your kid like that?

Oh, I can believe it. Enough that it makes me ill thinking about all the "near misses" in bringing up children, that fraction of a a second's inattention--

Just factor in a parent with little sleep, too much work, carelessness and a lifetime of regret.

It has happened here. The father and his friend should have been executed by placing them in a car with the windows rolled up on a very hot day.

Years ago, I once got some baby chicks, placed them in my car at noon, and found them all dead in the evening, even though the windows were down. It was just too hot out side.

I learned a hard lesson that day.

No excuses. Charge her with something.

I have real trouble believing a child can be forgotten in a car. Everyone I see getting out a car turns back and glances at it. Women have purses they turn and pick up and look in the back seat.

Frankly I think this is just plain murder and excused away as forgetting. I notice too this happens in the summer so often and not during the year when the tempatures are mild.

I almost did it. Every morning I dropped my daughter off at the sitter and drove my son to school. Dropped my daughter off at the sitter and drove my son to school. Dropped my daughter off at the sitter and drove my son to school.

One morning we were running very late. I drove my son directly to school without stopping at the sitter so he could get there on time. Then I drove to work. I was so used to driving directly to work after dropping my son at school that I did it without thinking. And I was distracted from being late already.

Thanks be to God that I looked in the back seat as I shut the car door. There was my beautiful daughter in her car seat looking up at me, quiet as a mouse.

You can judge if you want, but try having mercy instead. Human beings make mistakes. Sometimes horrible mistakes. If I had lost my daughter I would never have been able to live with the guilt

Back in the day, before airbags, babies were usually in the front passenger seat where the mom or dad saw them as the exited the car and did not forget to get their baby out. The airbags began in 1997 and that is when all of these deaths began to occur.

Quit putting the frickin’ baby’s car seats in the back seat and back up front next to the driver. Problem solved. Stupid morons who came up with these “child safety” laws should be the ones put on trial.

I will be honest. When I was at the commissary with my three week old daughter... I forgot she was in the buggy until I looked in my empty backseat. Some weird rule about kids in cars eats had to ride in the back. I was horrified, she probably sat there two minutes. I can’t explain it in a nice way or justify it... It happened.

Get rid of the stupid “back seat” laws that put infants in the back rather than the front where mommy won’t forget about them.

I see everyone is talking about the mother in Virginia. I have to ask about the one in Baltimore. It was a pick up truck, how do you leave a kid in a pickup truck?

News needs to be doing a nightly PSA DO NOT LEAVE PETS OR CHILDREN IN HOT LOCKED CARS WITH THE WINDOW CRACKED.

We are already in the low 90’s and little rain, in Memphis.

You just have to wonder what prescription medications some of these people may have been on. As with the gun” debate” this is NEVER discussed because of the raw political power of Big Pharma.

Today’s lifestyle is enough to drive anyone to forgetfulness. The harried, multitasking, time-pressure lifestyle lived by most adults people today, getting kids ready, getting them buckled into the back seat, throwing in errands, coupled with their own lack of sleep and bombardment with nonsense from radios, tv, handheld devices, computers, dialing “1” for English, pecking through phone logic trees to talk with someone, traffic challenges, worrying about work, finances, home issues, finances, have rendered too many people absentminded. Not an excuse, but a big part of the tragedy, when it occurs, which is more and more often.
