Edward Snowden could be headed to Iceland
The Daily Mail ^ | 4 July 2013 | Jaymi Mccann

Whistleblower Edward Snowden might soon be living up to his frigid last name as Icelandic lawmakers have put legislation on the table that would make the NSA's most wanted man a citizen of the polar country.

Member of Iceland's parliament Ögmundur Jónasson first made the proposition this morning, the last day before the 63-member legislative body begins their summer leave.

Granting citizenship to Snowden, who admits to revealing key details of U.S. surveillance activities would circumvent the rule that he must be on Icelandic soil to apply for asylum there.

Good. I hope he is happy there. Maybe he will release Obama’s real birth certificate. :-)

CW and I were talking about this.. in Austria, the ‘search’ was limited to an aisle walkthru, nothing searched. Cynwoody notes Morales’ plane left another airport 34 miles away, and Snowden would have had to be helped there to stowaway. So he could already be there.

Rather clever, Snow(den) in Iceland. It was his original destination, as I recall, but every other country apparently had PR departments working overtime to spread rumors and get their name in the press...or maybe to get money from Barack, who loves to spread it around.

That’s been my question since his was revoked: he can only stowaway on a private plane and pop up somewhere he’s applied.
