No other person in the country is able to claim as much credit for starting the modern-day Tea Party as Rick Santelli. His rant on the Chicago floor that day was epic. It was another shot heard ‘round the world, except this time, it was near instant.

Nice you caught the cat.. most people don’t even notice it ;)

Red cape (and opening up the face area) was pretty simple... getting his face in there was not :p (slight exaggeration..)

“I’m a proud Bill Clinton impeachment FReeper baby.”

Darn... you beat me by 5 days...

IIRC, I picked FR up from a Drudge comment...

I was lurking since 1996(?) but in full just after you in 1998.

I met Drudge - and Ann at one of the FReeper Clinton DC protests.

Ya. I was down in the SLC when it went down. I was on a pilot program with Qwest DSL 256K. Checking out drudge and ran across this crazy ass Free Republic.

It was a cool tribute by Rush who is correct 99.7 percent of the time—or thereabout. And I only agree with him about 97.9 percent of the time—which means, I think, that I’m ALWAYS right!

Long live Rush Limbaugh.

Origin of the Tea Party?

Where were Lush Rimbaugh and the rest of the MSM parasites on 9/12/2009?

I know where WE were that day.

Thanks, Rush. Heard it live and loved it.

I have no doubt that at least some RINOs are RINOs because of NSA activities (horrendous flashback to Hillary’s stolen FBI files and the blackmail effect they had back then). I have long thought our best prevention against compromised RINOs would be to dig the dirt on them OURSELVES and threaten to publish it if they didn’t come clean and then do what we elected them to do: vote conservatively! At this point, i think most of us would forgive and forget a LOT of transgressions if a RINO blew the lid off the blackmail attempts and just went public with it.

Well, I can dream, can’t I?!

You wanna give the rest of us a clue on why you’re bashing Rush on a ‘thank you, Rush’ thread? Never mind. I don’t really care, and it already said more about you than i care to know. How crass.

“Elton John, reportedly paid $1 million, performed at their wedding reception held at the Breakers Hotel. Guests at their reception included Karl Rove, Sean Hannity, James Carville, Mary Matalin, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and Tom Watson. On June 4, 2010, the Breakers Hotel was also the location for the rehearsal dinner luau Rush and Kathryn hosted for 400 guests. Rush has photos of their wedding available on his Facebook page. “Confined definitions of Conservatism”.

Yeah, right.

NO SURF FOR YOU, LUSH.

Back in the day, FR was anti-Bush, anti GOPe, then it turned into BushBot central. With nothing but “A day in the life” crap, lots and lots of early freepers either left or got zotted. This place is slowly returning to it roots, thank goodness.

AMEN.

The Party (tm) is infested with interior decorating RINO-crats who game the system for their own progressive activist causes instead of conserving the values this Republic was founded upon.

"Oops"

And The Party, is OVER.

You’re kidding. Oh. My. Gawwsh. He had Elton John for his wedding?! (gasp!)

I’m so friggin’ jealous. Elton had one of the most awesome mondegreens of all time in “Rocket Man,” and it wasn’t until the Volkswagen Passat commercial that i figured it out. I would’ve had Elton play that one for sure, just so i could sing along!

“Rocket man, burning up the trees on every lawn”

“Rocket man, loving on the cheese, the provolone...”

“Rocket man, swearin’ out his fool while on the phone...”

I wonder if Elton would consider doing a cover song, ‘cause I doubt Manfred Mann’s Earth Band is around any more. “Blinded by the light, wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night...”

I’m so sorry. You were saying?

Rick's Rant, Free Republic, Rush Limbaugh, Drudge Report Those four all got me into the Tea Party, all happened about the same time. Wish I had kept a diary to give "proper respects" for the exact timeline. :)

Strangely, after being banned for an eon, my ability to post was restored. I am neither a “Conservative” nor a “Liberal”. Back in the early 90’s and aftet the site became a rocking, unmoderated free for all, there was room for all and all gave as good as they got. It was exhiliratingly free! Alas, JimRob acquired Mods and the Clintons were gone, and the site became cleaned up. Still the best place for news. Then the Times decision. Evenso, it still remains a source for man on the scene reportage, don’t know a smarter, savvier bunch. I do hope many of my fellow Banned Ones return along with their wit, wisdom, passion and contrarian points of view. Tolerance for all views, without descending to invective, was how Americans got along til we became “Balkanized” into pressure groups fighting against one another. This is Independence Day and I feel old and very alone in my celebration. I spend my day reminiscing about my America, a place even my own children cannot conceive of, a free place where no one word was labelled “hate speech.” How quickly freedom is being taken away.
