If You Like The Surveillance State, You’ll Love E-Verify
Free Foundation ^ | 6/30/13 | Ron Paul

From massive NSA spying, to IRS targeting of the administration's political opponents, to collection and sharing of our health care information as part of Obamacare, it seems every day we learn of another assault on our privacy. Sadly, this week the Senate took another significant, if little-noticed, step toward creating an authoritarian surveillance state. Buried in the immigration bill is a national identification system called mandatory E-Verify.

The Senate did not spend much time discussing E-Verify, and what little discussion took place was mostly bipartisan praise for its effectiveness as a tool for preventing illegal immigrants from obtaining employment. It is a tragedy that mandatory E-Verify is not receiving more attention, as it will impact nearly every American’s privacy and liberty.

The mandatory E-Verify system requires Americans to carry a “tamper-proof” social security card. Before they can legally begin a job, American citizens will have to show the card to their prospective employer, who will then have to verify their identity and eligibility to hold a job in the US by running the information through the newly-created federal E-Verify database. The database will contain photographs taken from passport files and state driver's licenses. The law gives federal bureaucrats broad discretion in adding other “biometric” identifiers to the database. It also gives the bureaucracy broad authority to determine what features the “tamper proof” card should contain.

Regardless of one’s views on immigration, the idea that we should have to ask permission from the federal government before taking a job ought to be offensive to all Americans. Under this system, many Americans will be denied the opportunity for work. The E-Verify database will falsely identify thousands as "ineligible," forcing many to lose job opportunities while challenging government computer inaccuracies. E-Verify will also impose additional compliance costs on American businesses, at a time

Add that big brother crap to my list about this horrible Amnesty bill.

1. Amnesty for 30 million illegals
2. those 30 million new citizens will be allowed to bring in their extended family members from the 3rd world = 50 million more NEW 3rd world immigrants.
3. Amnesty forever to any 3rd world liar who claims political asylum (any Muslim). Michelle Bachman said this alone could bring in another 50 million 3rd world immigrants. total count 130 million new democrat voters so they can turn the USA into a socialist state.
4. all these new citizens will have more rights than Americans. a $5000 penalty for employers if they hire An American over an amnestied 3rd world immigrant
5. democrats import All these 130 million new democrat voters from the 3rd world so that democrats can turn the USA into a socialist/communist state where they will give all your property and money to these immigrants
6. a massive increase in work visas for many many occupations in many fields ,even professional ones
7. The democrats know if they can destroy liberty in the USA then the rest of the world will follow. this is the plan to destroy liberty in the world and install communism worldwide
8. Massive amounts of $ to community organizations to register these immigrants as democrats
9 .A 1200 page obamacare like bill doling out billions to democrat organizations

There are many more but I don’t have time to post them all

what are these Senators thinking voting for 1200 pages of communist evil?

Why aren’t we out in the street protesting this bill or at least melting the phone lines?

If you criticize the government, can you get your e-verify document revoked?

It is quite literally impossible to prevent illegal aliens from working in this country without imposing some way to accurately identify who is illegal. Which by definition means you have to have a (more or less) foolproof system of identification for everybody.

You can keep illegals from working or you can refuse to have everybody carry “papers.” Pick one.

With the bad there is also unintended consequences.

If everyone is required to have one, then all the fraudulent voting can stop. Which means Republicans would win Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio and probably Wisconsin.

Take those votes from Obama and give them to Romney and Obama loses the election. 11 million illegals, the majority in California and other Blue states won’t matter much. It is still 2 Democrat Senators, the same congressmen and as long as it is an electoral vote, the removal of voter fraud seals the election for the Republican.

Sounds like an opportunity to create an underground network of trading businesses wherein Americans who refuse to be a part of this will work and trade goods to stay alive.

I’ve had enough of this government, folks. I truly believe we’re nearing Biblical shit.

That is why we have open borders. That way, everyone is a suspect.

This is National ID by stealth.

I fully expected this to happen as a result of “comprehensive” immigration.

How else can you tell me from him?

Obviously, there will not be E Verify. If you remember it was pushed through before... then all of a sudden, when asked about it, they didn’t have enough money, it didn’t work, blah, blah.

Was there anything about nullification of sanctuary city status... since amnesty is up?

There's a way governors could forcibly revoke a city's sanctuary city status: basically this.

If you put in obama’s information this is what you get from e-verify:

1. “The SSA record does not verify, other reason, SSA found a discrepancy in the record.”
2. “Obama, Barack H. 08/17/2011-Date of Mismatch.
3. “042-68-4425, Employee’s SSN, Case Verification # 2011229111431GY.”
