Graham, McCain, Corker, [Rubio, et al] Targeted by Tea Party for Immigration Vote
NewsMax ^ | June 30, 2013 | By Audrey Hudson

Posted on 06/30/2013 12:14:16 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Tea party activists are targeting Senate Republicans who voted in favor of a controversial immigration reform bill with plans to pack town hall meetings and jam phone lines over the 4th of July holiday, Politico reports.

"The anger is more intense now than it was in 2010," said Judson Phillips, founder of Tea Party Nation. "They are more upset about the amnesty bill than they were about Obamacare."

Amy Kremer, chairwoman of Tea Party Express, predicts some lawmakers will avoid public appearances during the holiday to sidestep embarrassing showdowns with an angry conservative base. Senators don't want a repeat of videotaped town hall meetings in previous years that showed haughty lawmakers in shouting matches with angry constituents.

But Republican Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, whose amendment on border control convinced 14 in his party to support the omnibus bill, thinks those who opposed the measure will face a bigger backlash from voters.

"Once they understand what this amendment really does — in spite of the demagoguing of some of my colleagues — I think they’ll say: 'wait a minute. So people voted against 20,000 border patrol agents?'" Corker said.

The immigration bill approved by the Senate last week on a vote of 68 to 32, would grant amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants. Corker's border security was criticized by Republicans opposing the bill for making half-hearted efforts like authorizing 20,000 new agents, but not authorizing funding to pay the border officials.

You can take that info to the bank. The “express” et al are a bunch of people looking to cash in on the work and dedication of the Tea Party Patriots. You’ll probably notice that there was no flag-word in the IRS machinery, “Express”-——

My bet is that the Canadian border will be very well defended.

Yeah, you never know when those Mounties might swoop down to repatriate the Molsons!

“A word of advice for other freshmen: Schumer, Reid, et al., have been fleecing the naive for decades. Going into the backroom with them is dangerous. Like they say in poker, if you look around the table and you don’t know who the mark is, you’re the mark. Or, in this case, the Marco.”

Mike Lee and Congressman Bishop have exposed this.

The house got 250 votes for the EPA border bill. Once the illegals get in wilderness areas they can’t catch them. They have to ditch the ATV’s and get on horseback.

Bob, That would be true if the people wanted 20,000 border agents, but they don't want 20,000 border agents, they want secure borders. And secure borders are exactly what you worked with liberal NY Senator Chuck Schumer to defeat.

“Man, this Corker guy is in his own league of stupid. He must have fallen out of the RINO nest and hit every branch on the way down.”

There were a number of Tennessee Freepers who warned us about Bob Corker back when he was running in the GOP US Senate primary in 2006.

if you want to know more about who Bob Corker is/was, Wikipedia has a surprisingly even-handed article about him. Here’s the link:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Corker

His voting record, while leaning towards the conservative side, could be a lot better.

Too bad Tea Party Nation and Express are just fundraising groups who stayed out of this fight until the last minute. DO NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY! Only Jenny Beth Martin and Tea Party Patriots are the legit group who fought early and strong while shysters like Phillips stayed silent.

The Tea Party Express was inspired to form by a Tea Party organized and put on by Free Republic dot com on February 27, 2009 (inspired by Santelli's rant on CNBC), the website you are posting on.

We had a very successful tea party on the Capitol steps in Sacramento, and I went to the office of Our Country Deserves Better PAC and invited them to come to the tea party about an hour before it started.

One of the speakers for OCDBPAC was the MC (at my invitation) and many of those later part of The Tea Party Express were at the tea party put on by FR

On the same day, Feb 27, the Tea Party Patriots organized a few dozen other tea parties across the country.

Mark Meckler, one of the founders of TPP--along with the other founders Jenny Beth Martin and Amy Kremer (they were NOT at this FR Tea Party, just included them for informational purposes)--Mark was at our FR tea party but had NOTHING to do with organizing it.

A few months later, I saw an interview with Meckler for a paper and in the interview he stated that HE had organized and put on the Tea Party that FR put on in Sacramento, CA on Feb 27.

Amy Kremer left the TPP and joined the TPX as spokesperson and was on many nationwide tours (along with myself and sometimes Jim Robinson, the owner and creator of Free Republic.)

This incurred the rath of Mark Meckler and Jenny Beth Martin as they did not want any competition so that THEY could be seen as THE tea party, and them selves as leaders of the ENTIRE TPM.

Mark Meckler eventually left the TPP and also was arrested for illegally having a gun in New York.

When a group put on a Tea Party in Wash DC on a day when TPP also had an event, Jenny Beth Martin came over to the other Tea Party with an electronic bullhorn and told the people to come over to their event. No one went, the tea party they had organized was doing just fine and didn't need to go up TPP's event attendance. SOP for TPP.

Speaking of Tea Party Nation, Sarah Palin headlined the first-ever Tea Party Convention in Feb of 2010, put on by Phillips and the TPN.

montag813, if anyone is a shyster, it is Meckler and Martin, and now you for posting misinformation and bad mouthing real Tea Party people and organizations.

The "express" et al are a bunch of people looking to cash in on the work and dedication of the Tea Party Patriots.--Segovia
Quite the opposite, in fact COMPLETELY the opposite.

Get your facts straight, or actually use some facts instead of just badmouthing others with misinformation.

That’s some terrific information and background, Syncro. It seemed weird to read anyone saying that the TPX was other than first rate in their dedication and activism. I’ve never read or heard anything about the TPX that was other than completely positive. I was also aware, mostly from your posts over the years, of there being some connections between TPX and FR. That in itself tells me most of what I need to know. Thanks for the info!

You’re welcome lonevoice, thanks for the post!

Notice the “crickets” I got with my posts to those that post short statements full of disinformation?

There is no comeback when you post the truth.

Posters like that just hope no one questions them so their statements will seem to be accepted as true, when they are just sycophantic delusions.

The TPX actually tried to work with the TPP, but it was impossible as they had to be kowtowed to by all other tea party groups and members.

At the beginning of, I believe, the first Tea Party Express National Bus Tour, they had a permit for a Tea Party Rally to jumpstart the tour in Sacramento, CA.

The TPP got involved and were so persistent that TPX gave the permit to them and they took over the rally.

It turned out fine anyway and after the rally off we went!

It's amazing how quickly accusers disappear when a little light shines in the darkness, kind of like cockroaches when someone turns on the light. :-)

Did you hear Rush talk about FR today? If not, here's a youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZ5zMpfgVgw. Pretty cool.

Thanks for that link, I asked on the Rush thread what he said and didn't get an answer.

Posters seemed to say he mentioned Free Republic as if it was just a few seconds, but he talked for several MINUTES about FR, it was awesome!

He even went back to the Clinton Whitewater days and knew about what FR was up to back then.

He actually had a FR handle way back when, no one can remember what it was though...

Spending, Gov growing bigger, private sector being destroyed all covered at FR and Rush gets it that we were on the forefront of the whole Tea Party Movement.

I posted an anniversary thread in Feb 0f 2010 of the Tea Parties on Feb 27, 2009 with links.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY FREE REPUBLIC TEA PARTY!(Sacto, CA Feb 27, 2009)

You will notice that Jim Robinson posted a couple of threads on Feb 21 about the upcoming tea parties in the body of the post.

Here is a link to Rush Praising FR (thanks to lonevoice for the link) for being on the ground floor doing tea party stuff even before there was an "actual" Tea Party Movement.

Thanks so much, Syncro for the ping on this thread, too and for your grate links.

lonevoice has been terrific about posting the link to Rush on several threads! Thanks so much again, lonevoice!

It was exciting today to hear Rush mention FR. He’s talked about Jim before. Very nicely, of course!

I searched the Rush radio show thread, and did NOT see a link to the sound, nor a transcript nor hardly any mention of him talking about FR.

In fact, no one seemed to be talking about it nor was there a description of what he said, but I got a ping from a friend saying he was talking about FR.

Good on lonevoice for getting the link to the audio out there!
