Texas teenager who has been in jail since March faces an eight-year prison sentence because of a threatening joke he made while playing an online video game.
In February, Justin Carter was playing League of Legends an online, multiplayer fantasy game when another player wrote a comment calling him insane. Carters response, which he now deeply regrets, was intended as joke.

Your calender may show 2013 but we are living in "1984"
Meanwhile, those who covered up Benghazi, and covered
up the ignoring of warnings of the Boston Atrocity,
and have helped terrorists from INSIDER THE USA,
are waking free.
Though it hasnt been declared outright there have been more than a few people jailed or put on trial for things theyve said which is a viloation of First Amendment rights. 0’bummer must be working overtime for his dark overlord lately.
^ meant lately...
He didn’t say he was going to shoot the kids, rather he said he was going to shoot up the school.
Then he said he was going to eat their still beating hearts. So obviously he didn’t kill them with a gun. So, if the anti-gun nuts are wee-weed up, they can relax. N gun deaths threats here.
Now I don’t know if threatened cannibalism is a terrorist act or not. Congress will have to pass another law to cover that.
He replied Oh yeah, Im real messed up in the head, Im going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still, beating hearts, and the next two lines were lol and jk, said Jack Carter, Justins father, in a statement to a local news channel.
It was clearly a sarcastic response. He even said just kidding after saying that!
Meanwhile, all sorts of violent criminals are on the street on parole.
Anarcho-tyranny exemplified.
It is a FANTASY GAME! What dolts we have running this government.
Jokes are not jokes. It’s the words that count. Doesn’t matter if you don’t mean them (unless you’re a certified leftist)
If you write something or say something you will be prosecuted for it.
If you accidentally leave out the word “NOT” it doesn’t matter. The prosecutors need to get their numbers up. Doesn’t matter if you had no violent intentions.
Meanwhile, the “legal justice system” does all it can to release REAL criminals on to the streets.
The kid needs to change his name to Mohammed. He’ll be freed immediately.
Another beat down on a rambunctious young man>>>> Note that the person who reported him to authorities was a Canadian woman who took the time to determine he lived near an elementary school
I see female-nanny staters versus young men and boys same as feeding them ritalin to chill them out (yes I know sometimes ritalin is justified)
This kind of talk is mild compared to what is usually joked about in online games.
They said our son had ADD in 3rd grade and wanted to put him on Ritalin. Mr. M asked what percentage of children have ADD and the school counselor said 49% of boys. Mr. M said, “Then it’s normal.” We dealt with it with out drugs. A little adrenalin maybe but only what his body produced naturally.
I am so glad it worked out for you to keep your boy off that “stuff”
Then the police arrest him a MONTH later. They must have been really concerned about him to wait a whole month.
Part of the war on boys. Boys who have energy to spare. In our more agricultural age he would have chores to keep him busy and get him worn out. The kind of stuff that charges the male batteries and makes girls- women want to know them
We were confronted with a similar situation with our daughter and drugs were strongly recommended. We fought and changed schools. Her GPA went up 2 points the first marking period and she was happy.
Some teachers are simply psychotic masochists who want to feast on the self esteem of children. Others actually teach.
