With a belief in G_d suicide is not a viable option for most, without a belief in G_d suicide is an easy way out. Not to say that those that believe in G_d do not commit suicide, just saying that those that have this belief have less of a tendency to do so. IMHO

Take away hope and the will to live dies.
Obama and his followers take away hope by enslaving people to the state.

Realistically speaking more and more people,in the West at least, have *legitimate* reason to be depressed.Remember, the pessimist is always proven to be correct...eventually.

Last year, more active-duty U.S. soldiers killed themselves than died in combat; their suicide rate has been rising since 2004. I'm fairly certain that, despite this statistic, the rate of military suicide is still lower than the rate of civilian suicide.
I had to tell the mother of a service member that her child died from an apparent self-inflicted injury. I will never forget her face as I told her.
