“I also think we should stop eating shell fish too. We need to follow the Bible perfectly so that the left can no longer bash us for using passages that we feel we want to. I don’t understand why we don’t follow the Bible word for word. I know I have given up shell fish a few years ago so that when I say that Homosexuality is a sin and they try to stump me. I say well I don’t eat shell fish either and boy do they shut the heck up. I never understood why conservative christians don’t follow the Bible more.”

Napscoordinator, the dietary laws were specifically abrogated by God in the book of Acts.

“11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.”

You may not like the Bible, or Christians, but do be aware that greater minds than yours or mine, far greater, have read and understood it in its entirety, and we are not picking and choosing what laws to keep and what to ignore. The Bible is consistent and clear. God does not make his will for us obscure. Whether we wish to abide by it or not is another matter.

Then why has this never been told to the damn liberals. I actually believed them and thought you know what, they are right. I am going to practice word for word the entire Bible which by the way has been great for my family. Now you are telling me that God changed his mind? I don’t get it.

Oops. I guess I needed to ready your entire post instead of the first paragraph when I posted back to you. I guess bottom line is to trust in God. It is so tough with all the evil in the USA. I swear it used to be so easy. My kids are good thank goodness (hopefully they stay that way). We really put God first in our lives which is so helpful in parenting.

The way I understand it, the MORAL law always applies, the sacrificial (ceremonial) and civil and dietary statutes are not....

Don’t know about starting to follow the Bible perfectly, but understand shell fish are not clean. Because of what they ingest, and the location where they are ingesting it.
Learned years ago about this, and not in a Biblical context.
We consider shell fish occasionally.

Best to eat deep water fish- salmon for one.
