Study: US education spending tops global list

WASHINGTON—The United States spends more than other developed nations on its students' education each year, with parents and private foundations picking up more of the costs than in the past, an international survey released Tuesday found. Despite the spending, U.S. students still trail their rivals on international tests.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development—which groups the world's most developed countries—writes in its annual education report that brand-new and experienced teachers alike in the United States out-earn most of their counterparts around the globe. But U.S. salaries have not risen at the same pace as other nations and the United States is one of the few places where overall education spending has fallen since the economic crisis hit in 2008.

The findings, part of a 440-page report, put the United States' spending on its young people in context.

The United States spent more than $11,000 per elementary student in 2010 and more than $12,000 per high school student. When researchers factored in the cost for programs after high school education such as college or vocational training, the United States spent $15,171 on each young person in the system—more than any other nation covered in the report.

It takes money to teach kids how gays like to have sex, and how Malcolm X won WW2 against Reagan.

I went through the American school system many, many years ago. At that time the schools were full of young people who were known as “students”. There were a lesser number of people who were known as “TEACHERS”.
Those TEACHERS taught generation after generation and out of it came what was known as the United States of America, a superpower.
Today, countless millions of dollars are shoveled into an education system that while still full of young people known as “students”, is now staffed by hordes of people know as “EDUCATORS”. The purpose of “educators” is NOT to educate, but rather to INDOCTRINATE!!
Look where we are today!

Public education in this country is the most colossal waste of time, money, and effort in the history of the world. Moving mounds of dirt from location to location would be more productive. Dumping truckloads of cash into a gigantic sinkhole would be a wiser investment.

How many trillions have been spent churning dullards like Rachel Jeantel through the system? The more incapable and talentless the person is the more money is spent on them.

Its insane and ineffective but that is the whole point. Our "education" system is Communism from top to bottom and scientifically designed to destroy real education and instead produce indoctrinated drones.

We have a young lady of color in our office that is well-spoken and I assumed educated. In a discussion yesterday she told me that she reads NO history books because you cannot trust any of it. Her example of course was white men writing about slavery, or in her words glossing over it. I pointed out several books and writings penned by both white men and black that go into great detail on the topic that she might want to read. She rebutted that who is to know if those are accurate, just like white people claiming that Columbus discovered America. I countered that even though he gets credit if one WAS TO READ history you would know that vikings actually were here hundreds of years earlier (along with Indians) but that she has to take into context from what viewpoint she wants to learn history and read from that.

I know where she was heading with all this and when I pointed out that most blacks were sold into slavery by their own race and that in the history of the world there have been more non-black slaves than black she quickly lost interest in our discussion.

This is the same gal how said that we are all immigrants (even Indians) and that we should allow anyone that wants to the right to come here unfettered.

You can lead a horse to water...

where you break its leg, shoot it, and then use its flesh for alligator bait.
Right?

(Still more kind and productive than our public education system.)

And what do we have to show for it?

Trayvon Martin's girlfriend? She's a fine product of our public schools.

And to think some folks believe we're just throwing money away ...

A product of an inferior culture.

One goal of an education is to give children a dose of culture. The fact that an inferior culture has largely taken over this country is a sign that the schools are either:

a) Failing to transmit decent cultural values
b) Actively trying to transmit the values of an inferior culture, and doing a swell job of it.

"We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong…somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises…I say after eight years of this administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started…And an enormous debt to boot!”

-- U.S. Secretary Henry Morgenthau. May 1939.

ha, good one. Next time you can point out to her that it was white people who eliminated slavery in N. America and several other continents, while Africans - particularly Muslims - still practice it.
