[Wesley] Pruden: Barack Obama’s enduring ineptitude
Washington Times ^ | June 25, 2013 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 06/25/2013 6:30:40 AM PDT by Zakeet

Barack Obama’s critics are loud enough and persistent enough, but maybe we’ve been baying at the wrong moon.

It’s not the president’s ideology, his arrogance, his attention-deficit disorder, his endless deference to alien religious faith and his contempt for the faith of those close to home (or even his backswing) that’s what’s wrong with the man in charge of the government. It’s the sheer incompetence of the leader and his gang.

This is the gang that can’t shoot straight, eager to stifle or soften the First, Second, Fourth and Fifth Amendments and ever ready to stumble abroad with timidity in the face of governments that mean us ill. In the circumstances, maybe incompetence is not necessarily a bad thing. They could be doing a lot more harm if they actually knew how to do what they’re trying to do. The Obama legion can’t figure out which is the business end of the gun.

The spectacle of a 29-year-old computer geek armed with a laptop and a credit card racing across the hemispheres, eluding the FBI, the CIA, the TSA, the IRS and the rest of the alphabet soup available to the president, taunting the entire U.S. Government to catch him if it can, has much of the rest of the world applauding, cheering and laughing.

This is the entertainment nobody has seen since Bonnie and Clyde redefined the job of bank examiner on the front pages of 80 years ago. This is also something new in our history, the world laughing at the ineptitude of the United States. Only Mr. Obama, who set out years ago to cut America down to a size to suit the third world, can be pleased.

The best I can say about Obama is that he is a blithering idiot whose just happens to be an idiot savant gifted with an uncanny ability to sound intelligent and erudite when reading someone else’s words off of several teleprompters.

[Wesley] Pruden: Barack Obama’s enduring ineptitude

I guess being a lazy third-rate Community Organizer, who got through school on affirmative action for foreign students, didn't adequately prepare him for anything but luxury vacations, sumptuous meals and playing golf and bball.

From the beginning, he has reminded me of the Peter Sellers character, Chaunce the gardener, in the movie “Being There.”

I refuse to believe that Obama is inept.
I do not consider him to be a failure.

I consider him evil and effective.

A friend of mine has a former Army buddy whose kids grew up with young Barry in Hawaii.

“That lazy, cocky kid who was a bad influence and was always coming around trying to get my kids to smoke weed”
is how our President is remembered by this guy.

I agree with you. While Obama is an empty-headed, empty-suit, the forces behind him are effective. Obamacare was passed by the entire leftist cabal—Obama just golfed. All he has to do is sign read things and sign things. Our enemies, both domestic and foreign, use him as a rubber stamp. But that’s all they need. While we make fun of Obama’s ineptitude, the LEFT has stolen our country—probably for generations. The damage is deep and pervasive. Obama will leave the Oval Office as one of the most effective COMMUNISTS since FDR.

Bah.
HUMBUG.
O is doing EXACTLY what he was elected to do; and does it well.
Get nominated.
Beat Hillary.
Screw up everything in sight, kill off as much of the USA as he can.
Get re-elected.
REPEAT AD NAUSEUM.

The American people don’t mind ineptitude unless they know what the term means, but I would imagine relatively few do.

A lot of people thought that Reagan had reversed the inevitable trend to the left, but he just slowed it down a couple of years. Anthony Kennedy and Sandra Day O’Connor proceeded to undo the Reagan agenda, even as Reagan was able to instill renewed patriotism in the American people.

Agreed. Reagan did his best, but in the end he failed. His increased military spending was offset by automatic inflation adjustors on entitlements. Tip O’Neill had the last laugh.
