By all indications, the emerging immigration reform bill may get as many as 70 votes in the Senate this week, as Chuck Schumer predicted on CNN yesterday. And so attention is turning to the question of whether comprehensive reform has a prayer of passing the House.
National Journal has a piece this morning capturing the emerging sense among many observers that House Republicans may kill reform on behalf of a GOP base that can’t accept it.
But make no mistake: If the base does succeed in killing immigration reform, it’s only because House GOP leaders allowed it to.
To be sure, the possibility that House Republicans may catch an earful from constituents during the coming August recess — dimming hopes for reform — is very real.

They voted for Boehner for Speaker and they should suffer the consequences if the leader they voted for sells us out.

While talking to the office remind the aide that you plan to support his/her boss's opponent in next year's primaries if they vote with the Rats.
Boehner will not kill this bill. He doesn’t want it killed. Some of the GOP’s biggest donors want it to pass. Boehner will not cross them.
Let’s hope the bill is killed in the House OR a bill so different from the Senate is passed that the entire proposal dies in conference.
Everyone needs to call their REP IMMEDIATELY and ask them if they voted for Boehener and let them know you will hold them responsible for Boehner’s actions if Amnesty is brought up for a vote.
Stop Amnesty.
Tell congressmen we don’t want ANY bill passed, no matter what they promise. This bill is Amnesty for 30 million illegals, and a 1000 page bill that brings in 80 million 3rd world immigrants. The bill will destroy the U.S. and will turn the USA into a socialist state as is the democrats/Obama’s plan.

The only thing historic is the number of Senators who are openly being traitors, voting on Amendments they haven’t read in favor of people who aren’t even citizens.
Never have I seen such blatant disregard of the people. I thought Obamacare voting was bad—this is even worse.
At his point, they don’t even know what they are voting on—but why ruin a great photo op?
If the Founders were here, the time for talking would have been long over.
The Pubs are so eager to sell us out, they don’t even realize that the Dems are putting them into a trap for 2014.
The Dems don’t care if they win or lose on immigration—either way, the GOP will lose, and 2014 is the prize. The issue is the prize, not the result.
The Dems are even willing to throw the blacks right under the bus for this—amazingly so—and the blacks won’t even know what hit them.
This isn’t about a “pathway to citizenship” or getting people “to come out of the shadows”.
This is straight treason against American citizens.
It's like the final scene in the musical "1776" where they put the entire weight of history on one guy, Judge James Wilson, who had previously been under the thumb of John Dickinson. Franklin and Adams convinced Wilson that he'd forever be known as the man who stopped Independence from happening.
It's the same argument, but now they're turning their aim on Boehner, whom we already know is extremely weak-willed.

I just received a letter from my rep Jack Kingston. He explained that agricultural states like GA need this immigration bill to pass. That’s when I knew the fix was in.
