IRS Suspends Screening Criteria Used on Tea Party By JOHN D. MCKINNON
The Internal Revenue Service said on Monday it was suspending the use of screening criteria of the type that led to heavy-handed scrutiny of tea-party groups.
The IRS inspector general said last month that IRS workers used inappropriate criteriasuch as flagging groups with terms such as "tea party" and "patriot" in their namesto select applications for tax-exempt status for a special, time-consuming review. IRS employees also targeted groups focused on issues such as government spending or debt.
In an interim report on the controversy released on Monday, the IRS blamed "significant management and judgment failures" for the agency's targeting of conservative groups. The agency has replaced a number of managers involved in the problematic reviews, said interim IRS leader Danny Werfel on a conference call with reporters. Mr. Werfel, who was brought in last month by the White House to clean up the IRS, succeeded the acting commissioner, Steven Miller, who was ousted soon after the controversy erupted in May.
The IRS said in the report it had found other "inappropriate" criteria being used by agency employees to flag for extra scrutiny applications from groups seeking tax-exempt status. But it didn't initially detail those criteria.
The agency said it was establishing a new process to give previously targeted groups a fast-track alternative for becoming tax-exempt. The report was released to provide an update on the IRS's internal investigation into what went wrong and what steps it is taking to fix the problems.

And what about all the other applications still in limbo?
Note that word, “suspending”, not GETTING RID OF. So, it will sneak back in one dark and rainy night without anyone knowing.
Right. Now it will just try to screw conservatives individually.
Or at least they say they did .... wink, wink....
Suspend....geez. Meanwhile they will hold all Tea Party applications until they un-suspend.
I begin to understand the French revolutionaries' fondness for Le Guillotine a little better now.
Indeed. You can't suspend something that you don't have.
Okay now nullify the 2012 presidential election.
Everyone who works for the IRS is a pedophile. Also, everyone who works for the IRS funnels tax dollars into individual Swiss bank accounts. They must prove their innocence, otherwise they personal assets will be confiscated and they will thrown into federal-pound-you-in-the-butt prison.
They are lying.
WTF?
So they are admitting this?
Well, they’ll stop this method but, they’ll use other methods that will take time to uncover...
How about suspending all the criminals that missused their position in the IRS to force their own political beliefs.
Like suspend them to 5 years each in a federal prison.
Before the citizens of this country have to suspend them from ropes.
After the revolution these people will be busting up rocks.
Did they admit to this yet?

“replaced a number of managers,” eh? Yeah, now that they are freed up from that assignment they can be moved over to Obamacare processing. Ain’t life grand.
Gee Thanks
TT
Yeh just today they started suspending it. Not last week or last month. Just today. I am just beyond furious.
The IRS now a kinder, gentler American Gestapo.
