Actually, Sharia does not require 4 witnesses for rape, though it is entirely possible it has been misused to say that it does. And I believe some countries have written this into their law codes.

Sharia requires 4 male witnesses to the act of adultery to convict a woman. The requirement was intended specifically as a protection to women against false accusations of adultery.

I am not a fan of sharia, by any means. But there are plenty of perfectly good criticisms that don't require saying things that just aren't true.
