According to the girl’s account, Abdelbadie approached and struck up a conversation with her, and then asked her to smoke marijuana with him. The girl said she told him her age several times before he brought her back to his apartment, where he had sex with her after claiming she had “seduced” him.
The girl left Abdelbadie’s home the following day. Abdelbadie and a friend are alleged to have walked her home, and watched hiding behind a fence as she walked up to the house.
Abdelbadie’s friend – who met Abdelbadie when signing him up for a children’s charity -- then called 911 after arguing with Abdelbadie about his conduct with a young girl. Officers responded to the area and arrested Abdelbadie.
According to charging papers, Abdelbadie told police he met the girl walking near University Avenue and claimed she was dressed “provocatively.” He is alleged to have admitted he “hooked up” with the girl, but would not say whether he knew her true age.

Sharia requires 4 male witnesses to the act of adultery to convict a woman. The requirement was intended specifically as a protection to women against false accusations of adultery.
I am not a fan of sharia, by any means. But there are plenty of perfectly good criticisms that don't require saying things that just aren't true.

So, under Sharia, what would it take to convict this monster and what would his punishment be?

I am not a Muslim lawyer.
However, my understanding is that there is no punishment under sharia for a victim of rape. I assume she must prove, somehow, that it was rape-rape, and that she is not claiming rape to get out of an adultery charge.
In the time of Mohammed, as described in the link I mentioned, the rape victim picked the rapist out of a crowd and he was stoned to death at Mohammed’s command. No other witnesses.
My understanding that DNA and other physical evidence also can be construed as “a witness.”
This is not to say that ignorant Muslims, especially in tribal and primitive areas, don’t misapply sharia. I think these are the primary ones who stone girls to death for being raped, which does indeed happen. There are even places where a girl is sentenced to be raped by a number of men as punishment for an offense committed by a member of her family. Then the girl is stoned to death for immorality. Everybody goes home happy. (Except the girl, of course.)
Such things do happen in (primitive, backward) Muslim areas. I just think it is a mistake to call what they do sharia. (Even if that is what they call it.)
