‘I am proud to be called a radical Buddhist’: More Burmese embracing anti-Muslim violence
Washington Post ^ | 6/21/13 | Max Fisher

Members of Burma’s Buddhist majority, including some of its much-respected monks, are increasingly persecuting the country’s long-suffering Muslim minority and adopting an ideology that encourages religious violence. It seems a far way from the Buddhism typically associated with stoic monks and the Lama – who has condemned the violence – and more akin to the sectarian extremism prevalent in troubled corners of the Middle East. The violence has already left nearly 250 Burmese Muslim civilians dead, forced 150,000 from their homes and is getting worse.

“You can be full of kindness and love, but you cannot sleep next to a mad dog,” Ashin Wirathu, a spiritual leader of the movement and very popular figure in Burma, said of the country’s Muslims, whom he called “the enemy.” He told the New York Times, “I am proud to be called a radical Buddhist.”

“You can be full of kindness and love, but you cannot sleep next to a mad dog,”

Despite that iron-clad inescapable logic, and instead of being convinced by it, the Washington Post still had to wring its dainty little hands throughout the article. Pitiful.

Ultimately it comes down to kill or be killed, when dealing with radical Muslims.

The Buddhists are “embracing” self defense, not violence.

Zen Buddhism was common among Japanese samurai after the 13th century. Despite their general embrace of peaceful living, their philosophy does not go overboard.

The Buddhists in Southern Thailand are under assault by Muslims who are trying to drive them out by murder and beheadings. They must copy these radical Burmese Buddhists. Islam only understands force

The Shaolin Buddhist monks developed self defense to an art form. Their temple was subjected to raiders and marauders until the monks fought back

...are increasingly persecuting the country’s long-suffering Muslim minority...

Interesting.

Has anyone -- EVER -- read an article from the Washington Post lamenting a long-suffering CHRISTIAN minority dwelling in an Islamic country?

What filthy hypocrites.

I love how this article ignores the fact that the Muslims attacked FIRST when they raped women in a Buddhist village.

MUSLIM POPULATION TIMELINE

  1. As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens.
  2. At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.

  3. From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves along with threats for failure to comply. At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

  4. When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam.

  5. After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.

  6. At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare.

  7. From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels.

  8. After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in Bangladesh — Muslim 83%, Egypt — Muslim 90%, Gaza — Muslim 98.7%, Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%, Iran — Muslim 98%, Iraq — Muslim 97%, Jordan — Muslim 92%

  9. 100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in: Afghanistan — Muslim 100%, Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%, Somalia — Muslim 100%, Yemen ---Muslim 100%.

Buddhists grasp the concept that those who embrace murder, terrorism, and territorial conquest as religious principles, cannot coexist with those who do not.

Thailand was relatively peaceful until Muslims took it upon themselves to begin violently oppressing and murdering Buddhists, as well as threatening to break the country apart solely so they could have a Sharia nation as their own, without tolerance for anyone else’s beliefs.

“You cannot sleep next to a mad dog” is a very accurate analogy. Something that the western nations (and Israel) need to learn.

Muslims can only prove they are non-violent by their actions; their words have no meaning unless supported by actions. The evidence to date is that Muslims are violent, oppressive, deceptive, and horrifying in their barbarity to all others, and even their own.

Before anything else, they must prove they are not, or they should be treated no better than mad dogs.

They attack others for their group associations, but demand respect as individuals. It doesn’t work that way. If they are not mad dogs, they should not lie down with mad dogs. They must be at the forefront of condemning mad dogs. Not “all creatures that are mad”, but specifically, mad dogs.

Self-defense and vigilance against pure evil is not radical (except to evil’s allies and apologists).
