How utterly stupid on the part of the two-ton guv!

I never watched Gandolfini's program, but I know what it was about: mafia and murder! Great stuff on which to stuff your brain.

It seems the nation's emblem flies for so many stupid reasons these days. Whitney Houston comes to mind. Did they lower the flag for Michael Jackson?

They can fly their own stupid state flag at half staff if they want, but they better not fly the flag of The United States Of America.

When Springsteen goes, they’ll be in a state of mourning for a month.

I wonder how many times the flags in NJ flew at half-staff for soldiers killed in the middle east.

The sad thing here...is that if you asked a hundred Americans about New Jersey....they either relate it to this MTV character...Snooki....or Tony Soprano.

I always thought that Gandolfini could have run for Senator of New Jersey and likely won.

Did they fly their flags at half staff for Orson Welles, who made Grover’s Mill, NJ the talk of the Nation in 1938?

NJ sure has a perverted perception of Honor...but then again they are not alone.

I would like to know what sacrifice this man made, to bring Honor to the state and/or country...perhaps I missed something.

FAT BASTARD ordered NJ state flags to fly at half-mast for Whitney Houston, too.

If you never watched the show, why would anyone take your opinion seriously about this matter? I know I don’t.

BTW, if someone proposed lowering the American flag to half mast, I would agree that was inappropriate.

I didn’t know who he was and had never watched an episode of the show.

Christie trolling for votes.

I won’t watch the depiction of mob activity for leisure enjoyment. The victims of mob activity, deserve more than that from me.

It’s not the slightest bit entertaining. No character is going to be entertaining enough for me to watch. If they were, it would in part humanize them. There is no humanity in these people.

I have nothing against Gandolfini. I am sorry he died so young.

It is amazing the level of deification that is gifted to people who learn lines, repeat them, and make faces on television or the silver screen.

“Gandolfini died Wednesday in Rome at age 51 fighting the NAZI army.”

A war casualty. At least it makes sense now.

NJ can do what it wants but I am tired of King Putt lowering the US flag for every Tom, Dick, and Harry. Every natural disaster, every explosion, etc.

A dozen troops can die in combat and nadda....

I don't think that US Flags should not fly at half staff for him but......James Gandolfini did have a love of our troops.

James Gandolfini: Our troops are some of the brightest and bravest men and women I’ve ever met. Sadly, they don’t always get the appreciation and recognition they deserve. The USO allows me the privilege to meet them in person, show them my gratitude and thank them for their service.

Flags at 1/2 staff for a frigen boozer movie star.
Flags at 1/2 staff for kids massacred in a school shooting.

All this flags at 1/2 staff business is getting a bit much.

I understand they also lowered the flag for Clarence Clemons.

Note: They did not lower the flag for Sinatra.

James Gandolfini appeared on Broadway. Broadway has a nice tradition of Dimming the lights for one minute before a show for every play on a certain date, they make an announcement on the PA that the lights are off for a moment of silence and it is quite a nice gesture to a great thespian.
