Going via a heart attack is not easy.

>A lot worse ways to go. Hope he was in the saddle.<

That is a happy thought in a sad situation.

I was counseled to always go on top. That way if you did die in the act, you got one more downstroke. When the EMT removed you, you got one more upstroke. And if they slip up and drop you, you get another downstroke... Followed by —Well, you get the idea.

What a shame. Way too young.

My favorite quote from the great philosopher, Tony Soprano:

Whaddya gonna do?

All kinds of people drop dead while on vacation. Looks like this guy is now part of that growing list...Probably the food or change of routine makes the heart just explode...

Inflammation is a trigger. They say the CDC tracks heart attacks to get a jump on flu epidemics, because the flu increases inflammation.

Vince Flynn died yesterday or today and Slim Whitman Died today. He was at least 90. Flynn was in his mid forties, James G was only 51.

Like so many; just feel such a sadness.

Vacations should be better than this; but we know too often; even relaxing; can be deadly- if one not ready. And plane flights can take a toll...

Can only say; Prayers 'up' for James Gandolfini and 'God Bless'....

Yep, going to Europe for two weeks starting next week.

Over the past month, been working out like a fiend and eating healthy.

I plan every hour of the flight to stand up and walk up and down the plane, and drink plenty of water (which probably will take care of having to get up out of the seat to go to the lavatory).

One of the best endings in TV history—at least if you followed the series.(Too bad Bill and Hil stole it.) Not quite the end of Newheart, but a great one nonetheless.

To: Jim from C-Town; All

never was much of a Soprano’s fan but Gandolfini was a good guy...did specials with injured soldiers and very much a regular Joe (he used to sit in the crowd with the regulars at Rutgers football games, was in the crowd at the MACY’s Thanksgiving Parade)...

Well they say that in the year after "The Sopranos" finale, the song "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey was the most played song on the radio even though it was a hit nearly 30 years before. Even now, I am hearing that song constantly and it always reminds me of that final episode.

James Gandolfini was my age but whenever I saw him on the TV, high blood pressure always came to mind. Now I have no idea how he lived his personal life but on the TV, he came across as a classic type "A" personality who was already on the verge of exploding into anger.

I would like to know what his diet and exercise regimen was in real life. Did he eat a lot of veal parm with cheese and pasta and wash it down with gallons of red wine? He seemed like that type of guy.

Anyway, he's my age and it comes as sort of a shock that somebody that young would drop dead of a heart attack. However, given his body mass, maybe not so much of a surprise.
