I'm a vegetarian, and I like their joke. So do the vegetarians in the comment section. I think the writers of these kinds of articles go looking to find people who are offended.

Did the liberal vegetarians get their feelers hurt by the big bad mean conservative carnivores? Why don’t all the Obama scandals get their panties into a knot? Far worse than that commercial could ever be.

Why is Red Robin insulting the very customers it's reaching out to? It's insulting the goofy teenaged daughters of the fathers who are picking up the check.

It’s long been noted that teenage boys crave meat and carbs, so need some attention to make sure they get enough veggies and fruit; and teenage girls tend to prefer veggies and fruit, so it’s important to make sure they get the meat and carbs they need.
Often in the latter case, girls shun meat and carbs, because they do not want to get fat, but some degree of fat is important to their maturity and fertility.

I tried a veggie-burger at Burger King once.
It tasted vile, even with bacon and cheese.

I am proud to say I bought three Red Robin burgers last week.
Those who can’t take a joke, well, they can take a long walk.
On a short pier.

That would be because they are not reaching out to vegans or teen-age girls going through a phase.
they are reaching out to parents of those teen-age girls who want a damn good burger without the drama.

Their are vegetarians that have made a dietary choice and their are vegetarians that are saving the world and promoting social justice. Maybe we can find a correlation between these two types and not being or being offended by the ads.

That was a pretty good commercial.
But with Red Robin being anti-gun...
Nope.

Red Robin was far too subtle. I prefer this approach:
