Sec. of State John Kerry making the case for going to war against Iraq in 1997.

John Kerry: (November 12, 1997
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1087918/posts
Flashback! Excerpt from Kerry on CrossFire in 1997 (Kerry RIPS into France, et al)
CrossFire (excerpts only from Lexis-Nexis - fair use, public comments) | 11/12/97

“...there's absolutely no statement that they have made or that they will make that will prevent the United States of America and this president or any president from acting in what they believe are the best interests of our country.”

“I think the United States has always reserved the right and will reserve the right to act in its best interests. And clearly it is not just our best interests, it is in the best interests of the world to make it clear to Saddam Hussein that he's not going to get away with a breach of the ‘91 agreement that he's got to live up to, which is allowing inspections and dismantling his weapons and allowing us to know that he has dismantled his weapons. That's the price he pays for invading Kuwait and starting a war.”

“I believe, and they stood with us today and I am saying to you that it is my judgment that by standing with us today and calling for the unrestricted, unconditional, unlimited, you know, access, they have now taken a stand that they are duty bound to enforce and if Saddam Hussein doesn't do that, the president, I think, has begun a process which you remember very well, John, was not done in one week, in one day, in one month. It took months to weave together the fabric to lead up to an understanding of what was at stake. I am convinced that many people have not yet even focused in full measure on what is at stake.”

Anybody remember when the MSM told us how Caliph Baraq’s sophisticated foreign policy views would produce an era of tranquility in the mideast?

White House vows no 'rush to war' in Syria

Given the history of the White House, this is their way of saying they're already in there, helping to arm Al Queda, whole will use whatever arms are left over after beating Assad against the USA. If they even wait.

obama is between a rock and a hard place. He does not want to impede iran but he cannot allow it to appear that way. This will be interesting.

Anyone wanting on or off this ping list, please advise.

Yes we’re arming Al Qaeda but there’s no “rush to war”, go back to sleep.

This POS should be impeached TODAY and imprisoned by sundown.

Arming Al Qaeda is treason.

Where is Congress? Do we have to riot in the street before these jackasses do their job? Do we have to storm the Bastille?

I agree with your assessment. This is happening now to head fake the press and public from paying attention to the existing scandals in DC. This is Billie Clinton bombing the aspirin factory to take the spotlight off of the Lewinsky affair all over again. I also think that’s why he’s going to Africa and dragging his whole family and half of the administration entourage with him. To get out of town to avoid the spotlight.

Obama is not a leader. He’s a community agitator and speech giver. He doesn’t get out in front of these issues or bad news. He dodges, obfuscates, avoids and finally is dragged kicking and screaming into decisions made by Valerie Jarrett.

This Syrian debacle is a joke. He waits and waffles and moves his red line again and again while 92,000+ Syrian people are murdered. On one side we have this murderous dictator thug and Russia and on the other side we have rebels who are now aligned with the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda terrorist organizations. America doesn’t have a dog in this hunt. But Obama thinks we do because he’s on the terrorists’ side. And now to avoid stepping in any soft cow pie puddles he offers the rebels small arms. I’m sure Assad and the Russians are quaking in their boots. We should stay out of this and let these two violent groups destroy each other without committing American resources.

Again, this is is just a small gesture of too little too late that Obama is using as a distraction from his own problems at home. He’s dipping his toe into the water at the shallow end while at the same time trying to convince us he’s in the deep end swimming.

-——We’ve rushed to war-—

That self serving statement illustrates the total lack of real knowledge on the subject. W invaded Iraq after the war had been ongoing for more then ten years.

After crossing the line into Kuwait in 1991, the war continued until Obama declared it over.

Reading the article........Linseed Graham is again backing the president, this time pressing for a no-fly zone above Syria in addition to Obama's decision to arm the terrorist rebels.

Whenever Obama makes an announcement or an order which is against the best interests of our country in the Middle East, Linseed jumps in to provide Republican cover for him.

Graham should be impeached, or recalled, or whatever the avenue is to rid ourselves of this addled senator.
