o The bill increases dramatically legal immigration adding between 30 million to 57 million permanent immigrants above current levels (14 million now) over a ten year period. Most of those added will be low skilled with kinship being more important than merit.

o The bill doubles the annual flow of guest workers. During the first year, 1.6 million more temporary workers than currently allowed. Thereafter, the bill would increase temporary workers by more than 600,000 over the current levels.

o A number of new categories of temporary workers were created. One allows 5,000 visas annually to the 30 countries the US has free trade agreements with. This is in addition to the H-1B visa level, which is also being almost tripled to 170,000 a year.

o Importing massive amounts of additional labor while 22 million Americans are looking for full time employment is insane. There will be a huge increase in unskilled labor to “do the jobs Americans won’t do, A patent lie, but now we bringing in a large increase in skilled labor to “do jobs Americans can’t do.” Beam me up Scotty, the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Strangely enough, some of the people who are going to be hurt the most are low-skilled blacks.

They are bound and determined to pass this “immigration” law.

By me this is a blue blood GOP effort. Rubio joined in because he was seduced by the political elite members of the GOP.

I despise everything about that immigration law.

and it could because we passed an alleged “comprehensive immigration law” once before. Then we granted amnesty to 6 million illegals and were told that the borders would be sealed, that this would not happen again.

Heh.

So now we don’t believe them and WE are the bad guys?

The political elite, the blue blood GOP....put Jeb Bush and his fertile immigrants right in that category.

I predict massive backlash if they pass any kind of stupid immigration bill BEFORE securing borders and setting up decent systems to monitor illegals.

They won’t.

Ironically, no one pays any attention to what immigration policy should be.It should be only something that helps the US!! Not costs us!

We have laws that protect Cuban refugees from the tyranny that is the Castro rule in Cuba.

That's the way things should be. If you live under a communist regime where people are under threat of a gun 24/7 and you can escape, we should be a bastion of freedom for those who can get here under those circumstances. Illegal immigration that way is correct and the way our forefathers had envisioned the country.

Allowing anyone who can cross our border since they want to smuggle drugs, engage in terrorism or just make a fatter buck is sheer folly.

This is illegal entry and should have been stopped years ago.!!

The world had 7 billion citizens. Perhaps two billion would live here if they could.

How do we deny the best and brightest of even a minuscule percentage of these citizens US citizenship while allowing border crossers amnesty?

Its an insane policy and no one is talking about it.!!!
